If that is true I can see what Ange was thinking. If Paddy had really been focussed on becoming the best player he could be he wouldn't have kept signing contract extensions with City and getting loaned out all over the place. You just have to compare it to what O'Riley did to see he is lacking that determination. Not money, I dare say he is loaded, but he is never likely to fulfil the potential he had as a player now.

 

Roberts has done nothing at any club he’s been to yet since leaving here, dunno what he’s done at Sunderland yet though so may be wrong. Can’t help but feel he would do well here though for some reason though.

Big part of Ange's team is work rate, shutting players down & tracking back so no wonder he said no to Roberts. Forrest was in the team most of the time under Rodgers because his work rate was better than Roberts.

 

If ange says so im behind it. Always wanted him back but not now. Ange knows his stuff.

 

Please don’t believe made up * that puts words into Ange’s mouth.

 

Ange was right.

You just need to look at how his careers gone.

 

I still maintain he’d be class for us.

I think people forget how good he was. He was a tremendous player for Celtic.

 

Let's move on * sake let's trust the manager with his decisions in the transfer market and we can't argue with the players he has brought in .

He'd have been a celtic player if the rumours of Pep saying no to the offer we put on the table were true.

Shame really...seemed like a good lad, his career could have turned out differently as a result.

But let's not get it twisted here, he was a fantastic player for us, and even I would have him back still, but does he offer the same output or quality Abada does? No....not even close to it.

 

Aye he was good but he was injury prone and we have Abada/Maeda/Forrest/Jota/Dembele all in the same position/s

 

Key word being was. He’s had a lot of bad luck with injuries and has struggled to make an impact everywhere else.

 

That was 4 years ago now. The last year he was here hardly counts too, he was injured and way off it.

 

If true then Ange is quite right. Roberts’ career has been a * show since leaving us.

 

* Would have been. Ship has long sailed now. He needs to find right club to kick start his career again.
