It’s been a whirlwind start to life as a Celtic player for Kyogo Furuhashi.

Straight off the plane and in for his debut against Hearts on the opening day of the season, the 26-year-old forward has quickly risen to become a hero amongst fans.

A cup-winning double against Hibernian in the League Cup final helped cement that position as he has contributed to the team’s new success under Ange Postecoglou with an array of goals - 16 so far in just 26 appearances.

For the brand new edition of the Celtic View magazine, we take inspiration from the Japanese connections in the club’s history, with special exclusive interviews and features.

Kyogo sat down with the View and here we take a short look at some of his best quotes from his time so far in the Hoops.




Speaking about his connection with the Celtic supporters, Kyogo said: “It’s an honour to play for this team and the fans and to see them get excited about watching the way we play.



The fans have been amazing with me and have accepted me but I want to give more and put more smiles on their faces.”

Speaking about his favourite game so far, he said: “If I have to choose one I would say the best game was the cup final against Hibernian.

“I scored two goals and we won the trophy and that was an amazing night for me and the team.”

 

I was listening to Rather Be by Clean Bandit and it sounded like they say 'Kyogo' so I looked at the lyrics and this song is straight from the football chant cookie cutter.
