He can be your * but he’s not mine.

Guy treated the fans like arseholes for the majority of last season and stuck around even though he had lost the dressing room early on and was in the process of * 10IAR.

He should have been away after it was clear to everyone with a brain that he wasn’t going to turn it around - after being skelped twice by a covid riddled Sparta Prague reserve side and knocked out the cup by Ross County at home (if i remember correctly).

If he’d left then he’d still have the respect of the Celtic fans, but he hung around like a bad smell and things just got even worse from there.

I think last season showed that he doesn’t give a * about how the fans feel, so I won’t be giving a * about him either.

I'm more angry at the board for last season personally. Now that Lennon has gone I don't really think about him too much, but I'll remember him mostly for the player he was and his first spell in charge.

He had a terrible year, there's no doubt about it, and he's responded to it horribly. Because of this, he was on the receiving end of some torrid abuse, some of which can't be justified. He feels completely abandoned & it affected him negatively, as seen by those few videos that appeared not long after where he was completely * up and out of it.

Mentally, I don't think he's recovered. He * the 10 but beyond that he was a great servant to the club as Daleer mentioned. Even further beyond that, he's a human being that's going to make mistakes, feel hard done by, get defensive in interviews, say the wrong things in the heat of the moment, and so on. While he might not yet be publicly apologetic, you can bet your bottom dollar he's torn up and regretful inside, despite how badly he's handling it publicly.

I think once the dust settles a bit there'll be a bit more nuance to the conversation. He'll have time to reflect, Celtic fans will stop giving him abuse, and we'll be able to sit it down and talk it through.

He's put up with a lot of * over the years, bullets in the mail, attacks in the street, threats online, attacked in stands, constant abuse, and so on. Quite naturally, he's got his guard up. It'll take time, but I'm sure he'll come round to seeing it through our eyes.

Close this thread man. There’s about 2% of Celtic fans clinging on and pretending they like this guy when he’s a Grade A *.

Shut it down. He’ll continue to talk and try and take credit if we are successful.

    Lock it.

The dust has settled and yet he still spouts * regularly to any journalist who’ll listen to him, trying to blame anyone but himself for last seasons failings.

You’re entitled to your opinion but I don’t share it, he’s shown a total lack of respect for us as fans, time and time and time again, so why should we show him the same back? He won a lot here as a player and a manager but from the start of last season up until now he’s slowly * away any goodwill I and I think a lot of other fans would have towards him, and that’s down to him.

Even as a player he had a go at fans for booing him when he passed the ball back. It's not a new thing

FWIW, I think Lenny genuinely believed he knew what he was doing and that he was going to put things right.

    Limited ability? Yes.
    In denial? Absolutely.
Arrogant? Some would say it goes with the territory.
Instrumental in * up 'the 10'? Sadly so.

But a bad * who forever deserves the fans disdain? Not for me.

We were angry, we were disappointed, we were emotional - I'd like to think that the passage of time has allowed even his harshest critics to get some perspective on his association with Celtic. He gave everything he had to the club for many years, he helped us achieve some magical moments, and he endured a sickening level of abuse (from anti-Celtic / anti-catholic / anti-Irish sources) simply for his unwavering service to the Celtic Football Club!

Club legend? Yes... but with a complicated history!

I don't understand how anyone can stand by him at this point even if you take away the disaster of last season just look at the bollocks he's came out with since.

I'll retract my reply. I didn't know the details of that particular story. Looked into it, and if it is as alleged by the lass, then I'm done with him. I say if though as I see she never went to the polis (only to the press), and there were allegations from NL that she was blackmailing him.
