I cannot see him not starting against the zombies. Maybe Daizen is back in time for the game and gets on the bench which would be great but thats about it I would think. Plus if Giakoumakis plays as well tomorrow as he did Wednesday he fully deserves to start anyway.

Id be flying him straight back that day. He would land in and be home by Tuesday night/Wednesday morning around 1am. A good night's sleep and ready for Wednesday evening. Thats perfect. Even if the bench, thats great because giak is blowing out his * by 60 mins anyway. A full attacking switch. Ooft. Dreams dreams!

As for tam. Nae chance. Takes him weeks for his form to recover anyway.

I don't think flying him back to be a sub is a bad idea. He'd run their defence ragged with 20 to go. He won't start but I'm confident Jota and Albada will run them knackered on the wings. If he doesn't play he doesn't play.

You have to factor in the jet lag. Having flown twice to Japan and back, you get whacked the next day / day after by the 9 hour time difference. I remember at 2pm in Japan going whoaah I need to lie down. It was like being clobbered. It took me a couple of days to adapt.

Think we're starting to see the real Ange, now he's comfortable in his role..

Few mind games, shuts the press down with a look, keeps the opposition guessing.

If they know Giakoumakis will start, that might prompt van Brokehorst to play a higher D-line than he would if Maeda was expected to start. Maeda fits Ange's gameplan better, but might be too tired to press hard. Decisions, decisions...

I would be surprised if we flew him or Rogic back with a view to Wednesday. I'd have thought it would be too much of a risk integrating them back into the squad straight away, you'd think they would keep them apart for a couple of days of testing before allowing them to mingle with the rest of the players. The last thing we need on top of all our injuries is a potential covid outbreak. I suspect talk about it is just to mind games to keep them guessing about our line up and tactics, but I could be wrong.

I actually think there is more chance of Kyogo making the subs bench than Maeda and Rogic. After the crazy decision to play Ambrose in the CL when he played a couple of days before for his country was enough for me to say never again.

Got a feeling he will make the bench vs Huns. All we need is 20mins or so if things aren't going our way.

The manager has reiterated the position on the potential availability of international stars Daizen Maeda and Tom Rogic

Postecoglou’s duo are scheduled to represent Japan and Australia and their chances of making the Rangers game will hinge on their involvement in the World Cup qualification contests.

The boss said: “I think they get back on the day of the game, irrespective of my desire to find a supersonic vehicle to get them here in record time.

“If they play the day before, it’s impossible for them to play on the night against Rangers.

"But if they’re not involved, there’s an opportunity to get them back. We’ll look at that later.”

I reckon Maeda will be on the bench on Wednesday. He appears to be getting minutes off the bench for Japan but not many.

He should also be back pretty early on the Wednesday.

Nevermind didn't realise it was a 15h-18h flight
