i think what it shows is that despite the fact that celtic are a scottish team in the time in whihc they won the cup it shows that they were the first team from the isles to win the european cup...ive noticed that probably the only instance in which celtic are referred to as a british club and i think it kinda puts it in the face of the british clubs and those that want to be them (cough huns cough) that they had no success in europe at the time

afraid thats not true. Its annoying but its a fact. Thats why Scots and Irish tend to wear football tops and even kilts in Europe and noisily make it clear where they are from to make sure they can tell the difference between us and the English. They really cant. II noticed in eastern Europe too that they tend to not be able to tell British Isles folk apart from Germans. I was always being taken for a German when I was in Poland before I opened my mouth!! I defo dont look Polish but I never thought I looked German (am a great big lunp of a guy but not blond, dont eat big sausages etc).

 

i dont no about n e one else but i have noticed that when celtic do well in the champions league we are a british club, u hear the commentators say another good nyt for british clubs in europe but when celtic lose its a loss for the scottish clubs they only mention us as britsh when we win do something good, when the huns f*cked up in uefa cup they were changed from a british club back to a scottish club, it happens all the time

and as far as i am concerned it it wasnt for the millions of fans from ireland, scotland england and wherever else in the world the celtic faithful wudnt be as good as they are. Celtic are a scottish club, and scotland is in britain, whcih has irish roots i dont think we need to argue

 

In MY OPINION, hoops are a Scottish club, and i wish we had more evidence of it at games!

 

Couldnt give 2 flying * to be honest. WE were the FIRST british club and the ONLY SCOTTISH club to win it....despite what we all think, we are part of the UK....like it or not
Who cares what they say anyway....we won it...end of....
