best park is Islands of Adventure. its got the best rollercoasters. but it would be a crime to go to Florida and not go to Disney :icon_mrgreen:

i stayed in kissinmee about 15mins away from disney,20mins from orlando, shuttle buses pick you up all day long ,tickets , someone told me recently to go to the disney shop in glasgow and you get them cheaper here than you do there.parks well magic kingdom of course ,epcot, seaworld ,bush gardens is amazing ,i also went to the kennedy space centre ,that was good ,and if your driving ,and get a chance goto clearwater and daytona beach ,i got advised not to goto miama, theres to many agents to say mate ,but put in florida villas to google ,the prices are amazing and there top quality ,but remember you still have flights ,hope it helps

i just back after my first visit

i 15 so i know nothing about our flights- all i know is we went with delta
kissimee is in a very good location - near restaurants and the parks
recommended parks depend on the age of the people going

islands of adventure -some amazing big rollercoasters in there along with water rides and spiderman (superb)

universal studios- alot of simulators eg. men in black ,simpsons, shrek
    mummy is a moderate rollercoaster

magic kingdom- a must for kids as you imagine
space and splash mountain are great
theres a run away train ride which is good
parade and fireworks are a great spectacle (fireworks at 10 every night)

i would advise you to try and buy your park tickets before you go as the prices are extorcionate over there

when we went we bought a flexi-ticket which allowed us to enter islands of adventure, universal, aquatica and wet and wild as much as we wanted

Buy tickets for the parks online! Around 20% cheaper

been there 3 times and for the parks I can recommend the Islands of Adventure. Universal Studios was ok. Also visit SeaWorld (Orlando) and BuschGardens (Tampa).

For shopping, going out, Restaurants, etc in Orlando: International Drive (name of the road)

If you can drive down to Key West, Miami Beach (Nightlife) or the Beaches north of Miami i.e. Fort Lauderdale, etc

yeah, first time going to the US at all.

4 of us going, going to get a villa, they are quite cheap and the $ to £ exchange is almost double so it makes sense.

Only prob we are having is the flights are a bit expensive. Flyglobespan looked the cheapest.... I now know why!!

Just back from Florida last week. Not too sure about where to book and stuff but we booked online with American Holidays and got it significantly cheaper than other people we knew who were going so it might be worth a try. I would really advise you against going with Flyglobspan!! As you can see from that thread they are awful and a friend of mine recently went with them and was delayed for nine hours! That's the last thing you need, the journey is already too * long in itself.

As for the parks, I went to Disney and Universal. Would have done Sea World only we were at something similar before, but I would reccomend it, the dolphin shows etc. are worth seeing. I really liked Islands of Adventure, some brilliant rides in there, especially The Hulk!

Definitely book your park tickets online before you go. I'm not sure of the site but we managed to get a 7 day pass into Universal for 6 people at around £300!!! We just bought our Dinsey tickets there but probably could have got them cheaper if we had of done a bit more research online but we got Universal at such a good price that we weren't really bothered.

I would also really advise you to rent a car. We had one and it gave you so much more flexibility compared to other people we knew who were there who ending up spending loads of time waiting on buses etc. and the public transport there really isn't that good.

That's all I can think of for now lol Any more questions just ask...

Aren´t there any US Airlines flying out from Scotland to the US?

A connecting flight isn´t that bad. I flew with Delta from Stuttgart(Germany) to Atlanta and after max.2 hours waiting in Atlanta we flew from Atlanta to Orlando. Delta Airlines is good and cheap. I just found out they fly to NY from Edinburgh. Also Continental Airlines from Glasgow to NY and US Airways from Glasgow to Philadelphia.

Travel USA & Canada to Scotland - Flights to Scotland from US & Canada

Most times it´s (a little) cheaper to book the flight directly at the airline´s website than booking on other travel websites.

Yea, Continental do Glasgow to New York, Newark NJ and Los Angeles with connections avalable to Orlando. Continental are prety expencive but, allot of the flights are over £800 pp.

US Airways via Philadelphia is one like you said. I used them in 2005 from Glasgow to Orlando changing flights in Deebo.

I had a connecting flight aswel. Went from Dublin to Deebo and then onto Orlando International with US Airlines. Can't complain, it was a really smooth journey. Only problem was when we got to Orlando and tried to get our car. Ended up having to wait around two hours because they couldn't find our booking. Turned out they accidently put us down for June instead of July:31:

try delta airlines for flights you wont get a direct flight normally stop at jfk from edinburgh or us airway from glasgow again not a direct flight but still cheap .avoid fly globespan ,heard nothing but horror stories.

for tickets try orlando ticket deals online, loads to choose from cheap prices
