Celtic 3 - 2 Real Betis

I think he's been desperate to give kyogo a rest. Ajeti had arguably his best game against betis. Hopefully another good showing from him.

Mccarthy in midfield & Taylor in defence. Not sure about the rest

 

The lineup won’t be that weak I don’t think. Guys like Rogic, Starfelt and Taylor need the minutes in their legs after being out for a while. Also likely to see the likes of Abada, Johnstone, Bitton and McCarthy, for me. Probably Juranovic at RB as well.

 

I’d definitely give Kyogo, Turnbull and CalMac the night off. If, and it’s a big if, I was going to risk Rogic to get minutes in his legs, I’d only be giving him a 2nd half cameo.

It’s technically a dead rubber and I can see that they would be in the same position as us, can’t imagine they want to risk their top players with a 100mph hit out and will look to rest a few.

 

Give the first team players a break and a chance for the squad players to show their stuff against good opposition.
This match we need to avoid injuries to players. Will be an entertaining game and will let Ange see the team and how they cope at an upper level.

Whether its is at left back or in the middle of the back 4 it is a good chance to give Scales a start and see what he can do. Think your right about Boli.

 

Like others have said, id rather get game time into the players that need games and the players that need to prove themselves.

Harte, Juranovic, CCV, McGregor, Rogic, Kyogo are too important at the minute to risk.

The way i see it we have 5 brackets of players going into this match with those above in bracket 1, and not to be involved.

Bracket 2 also not involved will be injured players such as forrest, welsh and the big greek striker.

So the squad will be from the remaining 3 groups

Starfelt and Taylor will need minutes at some point in the game after decent layoffs. So that would be group 3.

But great chance for Uroghide, scales, moffet and shaw to get some more game time to prove they are worth a chance of the bench in important games. If your not willing to risk them in this game, when would you be? That would be group 4.

The other group that come into contention for to play are Bain, Monty, Bitton, Mccarthy, Soro, Henderson, Abada, Ajeti and Johnson. These are players that regulars on the bench or starting, they need to prove themselves more to either get more starts or to stay ahead of the players in group 3 in playing second fiddle to the first team

This result plays second fiddle to keeping our squad in the best position possible heading into a real busy period with derby match and transfer window looming

 

Giving our first XI proper matching is more important than resting players for the Motherwell match imo.

 

Wont matter since we are in ECL. Rest some players

With CCV suspended, Welsh nursing a knock, could well see Starfelt starting.

 

Players recently coming back from injury will have a bearing on this I think. Taylor will definitely start as he was out for so long, as will Rogic. In fact the team almost picks itself imo, bearing in mind the idea that Ange will want a result as opposed to not giving a * and resting players.

Not a chance he'll put out a second string against a quality side like Betis, getting embarrassed at home would be a big blow and unacceptable.

 

Yes, Scales deserves a start. Not sure if Ange has declared him and Boli on the roster for these Euro matches.

 

So CCV is suspended and Welsh still injured?Thats a worry as Bitton a liability in defence.

 

Although I'm concerned about injuries/fatigue I hope we still put out a strong team, a good win here will do well for confidence and I expect Ange to play his strongest side minus 1 or 2 rested possibly Kyogo and Turnbull

 

Be surprised if Betis play the 1st team as they have no chance of 1st spot.
So hopefully an even matched game and maybe sneak a win but be happy with a draw.

 

I would happy if we just rested key players for the weekend.

 

We need the coefficient points for future European campaigns.

One for Giakumakis to make it mark. That's if he's not injured?

Mike Johnson will need to have the game of his life. Make or break for him but I'd play him. He'll be right up for it. I'd start him.

Forrest needs game time. Abada could come on either wing.

Starfelt should start. He is confident.

Welsh will be right up for it. Desperate to atone for losing his man in Leverkusen.

Taylor should be nowhere near the team in my opinion unless he wants to pass it backwards. I'd give Scales another run out. Him and Johnson down the left blood the youth. They won't let us down.

Biton should play as we need confidence in coming forward.

Boli, Taylor not for me. Should be sold in January. Don't want to see them on the pitch. They've not got it. If Montgomery has to come on then he should over these guys.

Ajeti should be nowhere near the team either if the team wants any chance of moving up the park.
