i would say he would be worth a cheeky punt. maybe a loan?

he would be taking up the role that Naka and McGeady play. how many players do we have at the club that naturally play there? i can count four who have a realistic chance of playing there (Naka, McGeady, Mizuno and McCourt). yes, Brown, Robson, Hartley and now Caddis have proven that they can play there, but i prefer them to play in there own natural positions.

what interests me most is that Sevilla are reportedly interested in the wee fella and they usually have a great judgement on players. not many players who go there are bad players.

sadly, i don't think theres alot, if anything, in this rumour.

urgently need a left back, centre back and maybe a defensive mid and to get rid of dead wood.

Get with it? So your "logic" is to invest in even more midfielders (and the wages to pay them) at a time when we have more than we require anyway?!

Brown, Robson, Hartley - three good centre mids. Donati and Sno who i, personally, don't rate highly but will get a game anyway.

Need for an untried kid to be taken into the squad? None that i can see...

Yes but when the pish ones are raking in the best part of 100k a week you have to have a limit.

Get rid of 2 or 3 before you can sign anymore of the club itself is in danger of being in financial trouble again

To play CL football would undoubtedly be an attraction, with the (vast) possibilty of winning medals in some sphere - for a 20 year old, that would be a "feather in the cap" as such.....

See your point though - cold(er) than he is used to, would get the sh^t kicked out of him, and would be miles away from his family - sevilla looks like a better option for him (and a more likely one as well).

He is a deep-lying playmaker who has loads of talent even if he is a small guy.

The fact he has come through at Barca says something. He is the type of midfielder we have been needing in the CL.

With Sno at the Olympics, Gravesen never playing again and Donati's constant failure to turn up in games he is worth a loan option surely.

If he is that good, i don't think Barca would be willing to let him go to us, full in the knowledge of the number of players who would be picked in front of him on a regular basis. They will be wanting to guarantee him first team football. He won't get that here.

It depends on what strachan is thinking, i know he is another midfielder but if he is one of those players that has come up on the radar as strachan said the other day, and hes thinking about the team 2-3 years from now then buying young players with a good pedigree and bringing them through steadily could save us a lot of money in the future, which is maybe why he doesnt want to sell sno either.

I thin kthe trouble with Sno is that he got a taste of the first team pretty young and then assumed a position in the starting line-up was his for the taking. He needs to screw the nut, bide his time and I believe he'll be brilliant for us.

Is the fear not that he'll start playing really well...then leave for f^ck all though? Don't get me wrong, i think he is WAY too frantic for a regular first team slot, but stranger things have happened...

meanwhile back to crosas, who we'll never get cos the Spanish clubs will do their usual palaver of selling him to another Spanish club with a buy back clause, happens every time with the half decent youngsters. so I'd expect him to be sevilla bound

Someone has never heard of a 5'4'' fella called Jimmy Johnstone then. Or say that other ginger fella who's managing us, heard he was a pretty good player!

Possibly, he's definately a good player and anybody from the Barcelona youth setup has a chance of becoming a world class player. Bojan, Dos Santos, Messi, Oleguer, Valdes, Xavi, Puyol, Reina, Fabregas, Iniesta. Who wouldn't want these players in their team? Also Lilian Thuram has compared Crosas to Xavi so that's a really unfair statement for you to make.

Regarding Jinky - see posts of mine relating to "best celtic player ever" - not mine (not nearly in my era), but certainly my old man's. Nothing but time for him, and he ranks with the Pele's of this world for the impact he made on the game when he played - he WAS world class.

Dos Santos - now gone from Barca, but reputed (Thierrry H) to have the potential to make it at the top Messi, Oleguer, Valdes, Xavi, Puyol, Iniesta.. don't remember then going out on loan 2 seasons in a row, but i will be happy to be proved otherwise? Certainly not Bojan.

Anyway, my point is that there is no requirement for him at CP, as he would not get a regular game - even if he IS as good as you make out, he would never displace Robson / Hartley / Brown / Donati / Sno in Strachan's eyes, and therefore is not feasible as a signing.

And then what about Strachan or Lennon?

I didn't say that they have all gone on loan, I'm saying that most players who come through are usually top class players. They want Crosas to go on loan because DM position is filled at Barcelona with Xavi, Yaya Toure and Marquez.

We don't know that, we didn't think we would see Hartley and Robson even starting let alone forming a fine partnership last season but it happened and Strachan stuck with it so it's out of the realms of possibility that Crosas would get a first team place if he came, the one thing Strachan has wanted is a solid DM since the departure of Lennon, he's somewhat found that in Hartley but he'll be wanting a back up player who is like what Sammy is to the strikers and seeing as Donati and Sno are mince...

But I digress, I think that this article is a load of bollocks either way you look at it even if he's moving it's most likely to Sevilla.

We BOTH digress dude, as we both know (to as much an extent as possible) that the deal will never happened - as for Lennon... i never saw him as particularly strong, in truth - one of the best protectors of a ball i have ever seen live though; fantastic awareness whcih is why he cost about 6 mill!!

As for Strachan, he won the Euro cup the year i was born, so don't know him well - Ferguson seemed to have him summed up as a smarmy little c^nt some time ago though, so i'll stick with that!

I'd welcome Crosas, but how well can he take the cold temperatures? We in Croatia have had people from Brazil complaining the weather is cold... Scotland is icy compared to us. About hig height:the guy may be short, but if he's fast and can keep possession, he'd do well.
