We'd be in a position that I thought would take us a season or two to get to.

McCann's European form this season has made me really think that he is Christie's replacement. He'd fit right into our system, no questions. He is only missing Christie's flair and range of passing imo but he is a good 4 years younger than him.

Genuinely think that was a plot by Ange to get him to think about staying. It's obvious that Christie has his mind on jumping ship. I don't begrudge him of that but it's criminal that we're going to get a fraction, if anything, of his real value.

Classic recent mismanagement by the board. * idiots.

Ye will get £500k if your lucky he is out of contract in 4 months whatever bright spark thought of giving him a new deal that ended mid season not to mention the fact he shares that * of an agent that Armstrong and Turnbull have

Aye that's why I'd like McCann and Lovric..

Lovric a ready made goal replacement, assist and set piece taker. An actual natural left winger also..

McCann replaces his pressing and energy in the 8 position..

I think you may get a little more if they view him as a first team player. Teams like Southampton and Burnley or the others meant to be in for him, if they leave it to January they may already be in a bad way concerning relegation. I would expect you could still get £2-3 million to secure him now, as that’s pocket change to them.

My take would be are you staying or going? If he doesn’t sign next week make it clear he won’t be in the first team post the international break.

Seriously reminding me of Alan Thompson at the minute. Great left peg, great engine, works hard for the team and has excellent awareness. Really hope we keep him.

The way Christie is playing right now I would be delighted if he could be persuaded to sign a new deal. But if he doesn't and any kind of decent bid comes in I think we sell him and take the money.

On form right now for sure. Would be very happy if he agreed a new deal.

Surprised he hasn't been linked with Aston Villa as a cheap replacement for some of the work Grealish did. They could get him, on much lower wages with a cool £90M to use elsewhere...

Given the armband today when McGregor went off, probably being offered £8k per week by our board.

We cant accept any fee for him and push him out the door.

Currently its within his rights to talk to other clubs, he isnt signing for anyone he doesnt want too.

I know they ssy the power is mainly with the player these days, but the power is fully with christie at the moment in this instance.

He is awaiting a huge pay day now

I really hope we are and have been planning on him leaving. He’s no intention of staying unfortunately, which means we really need another midfield player to take his place. We have to be planning for him leaving this window and if it doesn’t happen great but he will be gone by the next transfer window. We need someone to be able to take the burden from Rogic and Turnbull and allow rotation of those 2.

Would be shocked if he signed a new deal. In fact I'd be surprised if he hasn't already got something lined up elsewhere. Good player, good age and no fee required. He'll have plenty of suitors and a big pay day awaits, way more than we can offer him sadly.

Totally agree I would rather he stayed, but for me if he won’t sign any sort of new deal it’s your not part of the plan moving forward so go now.

Burnley remain keen on Celtic’s Ryan Christie-and are ready to ramp up their interest before the close of the window.

The Clarets have been long-term admirers of the Scotland international and have made several moves, but are aware that Christie can now sign a pre-contract and move on a Bosman in January.

Burnley are still looking for their first points of the Premier League season and manager Sean Dyche is looking to add to his attacking threat.

He has put forward a list of targets that includes Christie, Watford’s Will Hughes and Lyon’s Maxwell Cornet

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has already said he would like his club to get the playmaker tied down to a new contract, with the 26-year-old’s future in limbo for the best part of a year.

Serie A side Sampdoria are among the clubs who have registered an interest in Christie in recent weeks.
