£17m for Edouard or for him to stay and play to get us into the CL next year.

I change my mind on this every other hour or so

I flit between the two constantly and thought I was the only one! :56:

At the moment it's get the cash in and reinvest it in areas that need reinvesting desperately.

If it mens we get 3 or 4 extra bodies of real quality, I'm all for selling.

If he stays and we don't win the league and walks for free, what a kick in the teeth.

I'd like to play my 'hindsight card' and answer this question next summer. Cheers. All the best.

Take the money - he’s shown glimpses of form last few games but will he sustain that for the entire season? Rather have 3 or 4 fresh faces and the added depth

with psg rumoured to be getting 40% it would be more like £10m.if he could find a bit of form which he may well do if he gets used to idea he aint going anywhere he would be worth keeping around.if on the other that £10 or so million was all spent on his replacment instead of a fraction of it i would feel differently

Just get rid of him now. We want players that are bought in, he’s let us down.

The question is flawed because it’s written as we don’t get CL if we sell him. Personally I think we are more likely to win the league with 4 quality additions than if we keep Eddy and don’t get the additions.

Ange’s football requires a quality squad as opposed to a quality team. So I’m saying sell.

40% of £8m over the initial £9m comes in at £13.2m if the clause is true. Its not 40% of any sell on its always on profit. Even then £13m back in the bank to finish off signings will do.

Given the choice I'd go for whichever option makes us most likely to win the league, so with the way the question is worded it's the second option in the poll. He stays and helps us win the league. Edouard at his best is the best player in the country. The reality is, I don't think we'd see that if he stayed because I believe he's mentally checked out (despite his recent passable form), so it's best that we get a good fee for him and reinvest in the squad.

No doubt €17 million and bring in Giakoumakis and a few Japanese bhoys (including projects) in the winter.

Perfect scenario for me, he does a Petrov and signs a new deal with us upping his wages significantly but with an automatic 20m release clause next season for whoever wants to pay it.

I've noticed him smile again and in the right culture with players like Kyogo next to him he could be back to being the fabulous French Eddy and not the miserable, lazy * we've seen the past season or so.

Sell and reinvest please. He's had his day and a LB, CH and Big CF would do me fine.

I can’t believe the clamour from so many to get him out the door.

I’m putting it down to how spoiled we’ve been over the quality of striker we’ve had for the last five years.

We can’t rely on Kyogo to play every game, and I’m shuddering at the thought of Ajeti or Griffiths leading the line.

The rumoured replacements also don’t look that great. It could really be a return of the days of having a non-scoring striker upfront.

Lot of supposition in the question, like we'd spend all of it on replacements, wouldn't win without him etc, that he wouldn't go halfhearted for second half of the season to protect himself...

Like someone else said, personally I think that if the money was ALL guaranteed to Ange as replacement/build it's a no-brainer. About £13.5M is about 7 for new striker, and same again for LW.

That's how we should be doing all these development transfers, sell one quality player and replace with 2. Any excess then put into club. Imagine Tierney money spent as about £12M on LB and CB, Frimpong money as new RB and CB, etc., etc., etc...

Basically, if the football world operated as fans want it's a no-brainer, but what would actually happen is totally different :56:

He wants to go and has done for sometime. Why fight against this. Let's use the money gained to get the players Ange wants for the greater good of the club, get our title back and a have a decent Euro run.

Where's the option for terminating Griffith's contract and winning the league? I'd prefer that.

I would still take 9m for him now just so we can acquire new targets but I am easily won over if the big * can start performing again. The ideal scenario would obviously be the 17m plus the league title and I don't think that is outwith our reach this season. I think his time is up though

I’d sell, his heart hasn’t been in it for the last year and a half. He is only showing a bit more desire as he knows Kyogo has come in and shown him up and is worried he doesn’t get his move.

    I want him gone
The feel good factor at the moment is masking the fact that he has downed tools

can not forget games last year where he was walking back, he’s still not playing with the aggression and attitude he once had

anyone can have a drop or loss in form but it’s clear he’s not getting stuck in
I don’t want us to hit a bad patch and his attitude bring us down

look at the difference that Kyogo brings with his attitude
