Japanese boy they had at right back was a tidy player.

 

i was intrigued to see how we would do playing this way against better opposition and it was a joy to watch.they seem a strong side and we rattled them.

 

It wasn’t our best game, we however still got the win which is most important we will get games where we are not firing on all cylinder.

 

Good score to take over to the Netherlands. Good performance though some shaky defending at times. Think we have enough to get the job done but now onto Saturday. Got to keep this momentum going.

 

First half was excellent for the most part, 2nd half we struggled to get going but the Eddy change made a difference. A lot of tired legs around 70mins though and the mistakes crept in.

Whenever we make changes in the middle of the park as well we lose our way a bit, once the full squad fitness is at the required level then we’ll be flying.

Tonight was our first big test against a very good technical team as they tried to play a similar style and we held our own very well.

Having 2 (3 if you dare to include Taylor) young defenders playing well together is such a good bellwether for the future.

Tbh though, a bit more clinical and/or lucky in front of goal and we are looking at scoring 6-7 goals in each of the last few games
Last night could easily have been a 7-3 game

 

Last night was swashbuckling stuff. It reminded me in some ways of MON days when at home we harried and pressed and could play a bit too. Not sure many would fancy coming to Parkhead on a big European night if we keep producing that type of performance. I hold my hands up and say I wrote Ange off and so far he has proved me dead wrong. I love the style of play, the inter changing and the passion. It is very exciting to watch. AZ are no mugs and although they really should have scored we could have had more ourselves. If anyone had offered a 2 goal advantage going to the Netherlands beforehand I would have snapped their hand off. Hopefully we can do the job next week. We have the firepower to hurt them anyways that's for sure.
