Hopefully a big portion. Surely Édouard will be away at some point too.

I hope so, but the board will want money in the bank so that dividends and bonus can be paid also.

    Brentford!?

Well, if that’s the level of his ambition, then I’m happy to wave him goodbye!

At the same time, you want to cultivate a reputation as a club that keeps its word to players. If they give 100% and are loyal, the least they expect is for you return the favour.

The whole Dembele situation was also a farce. Not only did we mess Moussa about, his agent (which is an issue as agents have 100's of footballers), but it also led to the end of Rodgers who * off because we messed about and sold our striker the night before the deadline.

Celtic needs a good reputation with players, agents and other clubs in order to do businesses. You don't get anywhere not keeping your word.

Also, there are promises and agreements made behind closed doors that we never hear about, but they happen. I remember MON talking about it when he came in. Loads of players coming up to him on his very first day saying "the last gaffer promised me X, the CEO told me Y".

Congratulations on the move. He played some fine football for us. Loved to see him striding up the park and causing havoc.

From what I've read, admittedly not a huge amount, Brentford are the kind of club that are operating the way we've all been urging our own club to operate. Mad seeing so many folk bad mouthing them as if we can slag ANY * for being a poor outfit.

For those who are in love.....
    We definitely can't slag them..

They had a couple of their player's playing for Denmark in the semi final of the Euro's..

Have a 20-30 million pound striker now
Just signing our best defender for 13.5 mill+
Have an excellent scouting/recruitment set-up of finding gem's and selling for big money
An EPL club that I can see growing now they've made it and new stadium etc
    Play good football as well

Aye they're a small club in a lot of way's but half the EPL is like that now..

    Brighton
    Burnley
    Norwich
    Watford
    Brentford
    Palace

Then Bournemouth were a regular and tiny club that finally went away..

I'm guessing that the three relegated clubs this season will come from that group of six. Smaller clubs need to be very well run to survive in the mega money world of the EPL

Under the circumstances if we get above 10 milllion for Ajer then whoever did the negotiations on Celtic's behalf should get a medal. In my opinion he has to be one of the most overrated players we have had. He has lapses in concentration and he isn't very commanding, he don't have any natural defensive instincts and is poor at defending balls into the box. I think he will be exposed at a higher level and there is a reason no one better than Brentford want him.

Newcastle and Bayer Leverkusen both had bids rejected before Brentford came in Norwich too not so much bigger the later of them but the first 2 definitely were

I thought my cousin inviting me for a Linda McCartney veggie sausage barbeque was the most batshit thing I would hear today.

    Nope, you topped it.

Don't quit your day job just yet. Scouting may not be your next career choice.

He is a top quality player but not a top quality Central defender.

He was never that convincing as a centre half, even before this season. I'm more than happy with £15m for a player who doesn't want to be here besides.

Brentford have a very good Manager/Coach in Thomas Frank who I believe will utilize Ajer potential to its fullest. Last season was a step back for him with very poor managers in charge who didn't improve any players.

I just always believe he would be much better at DM, with a bit more freedom to drive forward, how runs from defence were great but always left us a bit exposed. Our defending from set pieces and corners was dreadful and he was part of that, not blaming him I just don't think its his natural position.

A lot of players regressed under Lennons tenure I agree.

He's such a good player that he genuinely could play any position on the park and do a job.

Seemed a decent enough guy who at least tried a wee bit last season. Did he ever get over his face knock, I don’t think so. For a guy of his height he is so poor in the air, it’s a bit embarrassing. He doesn’t attack crosses and his positional sense is very poor, as highlighted in a few of the goals he’s conceded during his time here and at international level also, although I’m sure he put the blame for that because he was playing in the SPFL. Take the money and run, he won’t be missed in a defensive aspect anyway.
