Liam Shaw on Ange according to the Daily Record:

Shaw said: “Coming to Celtic you have that European stage and that is everything you dream of as a footballer to be honest. Playing in those types of games in that atmosphere. Hopefully I can be a part of it. I am looking forward to it.

“You have got to back yourself as a footballer, you have got to believe in your own ability. I think that’s really important.

“It has got me where I am today. You have always got to back yourself, be confident, show your ability and see where it takes you.

“Ange is a good manager. I respect him.

“He is trying to get his philosophies and his style across to us. It is quick attacking football, always looking forward.

“On the flipside of that, when you give the ball away he wants everyone to press quick. It is positive football. When I give the ball away I do like to press so, yeah, it suits me.

“I have got great respect for him. You can see he is a good man manager.

“I am sure he can help develop me, help all the team, help all the different players. I am just really happy to be working with him.”

Context is key is Stephen Welsh getting a clean slate the same as Leigh Griffiths getting a clean slate ? Of course it isn't. Realistically for me at least anyway and I'm fairly confident most would agree Griffiths, Boli and Ntcham should be out the door they have done nothing to deserve a clean slate the Griffiths situation is only highlighted further because he was out the door and we decided to give him a new deal which has proven to be the wrong thing to do

You assume us Celtic fans are allowed to base our opinion on our club on the experience we have had with this board and these players for the last 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, years...

Don't you know, we are Ange FC now and that is all that matters.

Yeah I've only been here eight years.

I was wondering more about the Dalgleish/McStay days...the internet wild west.

2, 3, 4 and 5 years ago we won trebles. The board have their faults but they've brought success without risking the financial stability of the club. I know it's not a popular opinion but I actually think we could do worse. They obviously made big mistakes last year - keeping players that should have been allowed to go (but they would have been criticised if they'd sold them), keeping Lennon in a job much longer than he should have been and then putting all their eggs in the Howe basket with no guarantees in place.

There are players in the squad who don't deserve a clean slate having a new manager doesn't erase history no matter how big a name the manager is. One of the players who didn't deserve a clean slate was Griffiths we're now what a week on since he was given a new deal and already it should be ripped up. What you say about recruitment and having to deal with what he has is true to an extent but you need to realise we've been promised a rebuild and so far all that has given is a manager who's appointment to the majority has been hugely underwhelming. Again by the same token you need to appreciate how condescending it is to come on a Celtic forum and tell us this guy is going to reinvent the wheel and massively shake things up if he's not getting what he wants when we know how this club has operated in the past and again I'll go back to the point the club wouldn't match the ambition of a manager who won't 2 trebles in a row and qualified for the champions League so why would they match Ange's ambition ?

I want him to succeed and as I've said the frustration just lies with the club overall and the direction we seem to be going.

We could do worse but we should have been winning doubles and trebles every season after rangers went down the swanny. We didn't as we went on the cheap. They went on the cheap with Lennon too.

The mistakes they made over the years just all came to a head last season. How many of those successful years did we go in to the qualifiers under prepared whilst the club simultaneously told us it's the biggest games of the season. How many times did we come out of transfer windows still needing players or relying on loans.

Leeds went bust gambling on CL success. Unfortunately because of the way European football is structured we'll always have big financial constraints. Do you suggest we spend big on the assumption that will get us CL group stages then if we don't we're struggling to pay the expensive players we've bought's wages? Obviously I'm not saying they get everything right and I think they could maybe gamble a bit more but it's a difficult balance to strike and I don't think we'd be happy if we ended up in administration and being docked points.

There is a difference between over spending and under preparing look at us now for example we are screaming out for a RB and CB yet will probably play Ralston and Bitton in the qualifier and then sign someone after. It wont have come as news to the board we needed those positions filled either which is where the frustration lies as we always drag our heels

So in the last few days/couple of weeks we have been linked with-

    Hickey
    Davies
    Nisbet
    Edwards
    Baldock

5 players we were after under the last manager and you learn that the club have told him any changes he wants to make to his backroom team need to be done in house. This idea that he will have a blank canvas seems utter dross.

I hope we do not have some fifth columnists on board in disguise.

We've been left in a difficult position at RB. I don't think the board could predict that El hamed wouldn't settle and need to go back to Israel or that Frimpong would get a big money move and want to go. Kenney was probably a reasonable stop gap at short notice but was nothing special so no point trying to buy him. Urhoghide can play RB. Hopefully we'll get another in. I don't think we'll play Ralston. We've got Ajer and Welsh in CD for the qualifier hopefully.

People are talking about an interview where Ange seems unhappy. I can only find the post match interview where he talks about the game. Is there another one I'm missing?
