That's a fair assessment as it stands. I just think his times up. He's a total numpty of a guy who wastes just about every chance he gets. A guy that age in his profession needs to stay off social media. He honestly doesn't seem mature enough to handle his professional and personal life.

 

After a decent uplifting pre season game Griffiths manages to try and derail it, going for 2 in a row of disruption to our team.

He's a ned idiot who will never learn his lesson. I have met boys growing up who had insane footballing abilities but were neddy toe rags who could never take a telling or behave. He is one of them but managed to get the chance... which he has finally blown.

 

He’s an abhorrent individual but thankfully now we surely will bring in another striker, probably 2 if Eddie goes, Griffiths was clearly being factored in as an option this season but he has proved to be hugely unreliable.

The club has made many questionable decisions of late but surely they have to boot him if he is guilty of doing this.

So many of us trying to throw support behind the boy, new manager giving him a lifeline...and he can't sort his behaviour out. Sad to say it but if it's proven that that's his messages, give him the boot. Unbelievable naivety.

Everyone has that one mate. That eejit with no impulse control, who is constantly getting into bother.

You're EXACTLY right when you say he doesn't have the maturity to handle his profession.
Any other bloke his age sees a photo of a hot girl on social media and says "wow, I wish I lived in a world where I could get next to that."

And I'm quite sure he's not alone.

Footballers have been, rightly imo, hammered down the ages for their cavalier and downright morally compromised behaviour towards girls, women and * in general.

At Celtic alone it's been an issue. Neil Lennon banged one of my mates, despite having a girl at the time. She was twenty, he was 32. Nail McGinn, whilst with us, met another of my friends in a club while she was on a girls night. Despite being told several times she was married, proceeded to FB her, still pursuing, having to be told to do one. I mind rumor going about years ago that Hartsons wife had dumped all his clothes in bin bags outside CP after catching him on the prowl. Forrest waving his chap about in a bar etc etc.

These kids should be given a social media and professional standards workshop at the start of every season, written into their contract.

 

When we appointed our manager in 2016, Mulgrew who walked off the pitch v Ajax wasn't offered a new deal. Commons who publicly threw a fit after being subbed never played again and our captain Scott Brown was summoned to London for a chat. Scott was captain of a squad that had apparently not been entirely behind Ronny.
The new gaffer was making his mark.

If Ange has sanctioned the 12 month deal, which I don't believe he has done completely on his own, it does raise issues regarding the due diligence he carried out on the existing squad.
I think the board gave him the argument I'm seeing in some of the posts above - proven goalscorer, only a 12 month deal, low risk, less wages, he's working hard etc..... and I believe Ange went with it.

Either way, Griff has undermined the judgement of whomever ok'd the deal. Pushing aside the opinions on who that might have been, Griff has put the new regime on the backfoot already when we need as little drama as possible and as much focus on the football as possible. * gimp.

why are you trying to equate lennon banging a 20 year old woman to griffiths trying to get a nude snap of a child.he didnt know she was 15 is no * excuse

This one alwaya infuriates me, he was injured for 6 months after that and if he sat down on the pitch, waited for treatment and wasted the last precious minutes of that game I’d have been * raging. Got off quickly so the team had all the time available. Mental to think people watched Mulgrew in his time for us and thought he’d be a guy with no heart like that.

 

I was more infuriated at a player in the hoops walking off the pitch without permission or advance warning to management.
But, the main point from the post was he was canned and you can trace it back to that incident. The incoming manager assessed it and he was gone.

While I was underwhelmed with Ronny's appointment and now Ange’s, I have very little time for players deliberately and/or publicly undermining our manager.

Griffs is a *, always has been...he had a couple of decent seasons,that was it. Doesn't give a * about the club or where we are going....And now he's on the nonce list

Now as i say, they don't give a *....Start getting rid of the rest of these * charlatans as quick as possible,get them moved on and attempt slowly to rebuild this club over the next couple of seasons.

How many chances do you give someone ? He's obviously not the brightest but that doesn't justify some of the stunts he has pulled. Time for him to screw the nut, somewhere else.

I was a Griff fan but he can just * off now .
How many last chances does he need , the contract should be terminated immediately and throw him out the door now so he cannot drag the club down to his level , Hope he will receive what he deserves soon .

 

An interesting post that confirms the stereotype of footballers being dumb and impulsive as true. Add to the fact that most of them do it while wasted.
