Not strictly Celtic related but nobody should be getting players names on the back of their shirts. Unless they're a child.

We've had a certain quality of player in our team for many seasons now. Broony, moussa, Édouard, Tierney, van * with good spells from paddy Roberts, Armstrong and LG. This up coming season we look bang average all over without anyone who really stands out or anyone we could make a reasonable profit on.

Ange Postecoglou is a better appointment than Howe would have been

I agree with the MoN point, not causing a fight but it’s something I often think about -
Getting to Seville was great and all but with the money we spent under him we probably shouldn’t have been in UEFA Cup anyway.
There was more long balls under his tenure than people like to remember, it was often painful to watch (albeit the results worked out), I can’t be the only one who remembers long wide balls to Alan Thompson for large chunks of games or Agathe running the ball out of play on a regular basis. We seem to re-remember his tenure of incredible attacking football.

People remember him more fondly than Strachan, that is fair enough but it is often done as a discredit to Strachan.

Strachan came in tasked with reducing the wage budget (because MoN had 30 year olds on tens of thousands a week with long term contracts) and doing without a war chest. He was able to build a defence of McManus the youth academy graduate and Caldwell/Telfer the bosmans and take them to the Champs League knockouts.

I’ll go a step further and say that no one over the age of 12 should be wearing a football shirt outside of the house*

Fully grown men kicking about the place in replica football tops with a pair of jeans on. It’s a no from me

I will get it for this one but, Wim Jansen was not some miracle worker, we finished on less points that previous 2 seasons.

Every cant going to the bogs for a smoke at half time without any consideration for others is fine by me. They should maybe put optics and a free beer pump up in the toilets to make them all feel more at home....

I don't follow any of our players on Instagram or twitter and I would rather our players didn't use these websites

The McGeady one is just not true.

There were many more influential players, at various stages, at crucial moments, who did more.

The outstanding player in Strachan's first season was probably Maloney followed by Naka.

Second season most definitely Naka followed by Boruc.

Third season was McGeady's best but McDonald had an excellent season and Robson was crucial in our overturning the Huns to win 3iar.

We were * in Strachan's last season so can't remember any outstanding player.

At no stage were we being carried by McGeady.

McGeady was basically our only out ball under Strachan for most of the time. He was the one that could carry the ball and go past 2 or 3 players. Nakamura was an outstanding footballer but he didn’t have that attribute. He went missing a lot of the times in games. I remember a lot of games it was a case of give it to McGeady and hope he can produce something.

    The MON one is interesting.

I sometimes think when you look back we could have spent the money a lot wiser. The players he bought suited his style though and his level of success considering where we were was v good. But he still failed (despite some bad luck) to escape the CL groups.

He was reliant on Larsson but any manager would be, much like any Barcelona manager has relied on Messi.

    Agree with this.

I think edouard has a higher ceiling as a player, personally.

Wish we had seen both of them together for longer.

I don't think anyones gonna come on and salivate over that Celtic team under Starchan and list a load of guys that were better than McGeady.

But we reached the last 16 of the Champions league twice under Strachan and McGeady didn't do that all by himself.

We obviously played with Lenny, Brown, Hartley, Donati, Jarasik, in the centre so there might not be a lot of flair there but they made good use of the ball. 38 goals for Hesselink over those two seasons, he wasn't a bad outball. And of course, Nakamura.

When I think back over those years I don't automatically think of McGeady carrying the team. That 4-4-2 side was a team effort

Hmm. I disgreeg A few of the key games were without Henke… Ajax away(not sure), Stuttgart, Liverpool away were when Henke broke his jaw. We beat a Stuttgart side that had Hleb, Bordon, Kuranyi, Lahm, Meira etc. I moved to Scotland in 1999 and witnessed ICT disaster, was at Ibrox when we got beaten 4-0 without a single chance. I was on the steps when MoN arrived and the whole scene finished. His football wasnt pretty, but we had some massive games and lost against good teams. Check the Basel squad from the time, Valencia beat us after penalties but the year after they played champ lg final, porto won the ch lg after. We fought back in Juventus from 2-0 doen to get f* by a dodgy penalty. The whole men against boys saga in Blackburn, we showed who the man were. Larson was pivotal ofcourse, but MON brought energy to the club that we were lacking.

The Seville year we lost against Basel who made it through both group stages and ended up in the quarter finals of the champ lg. Probably their best ever team.
