Clearly there is talent in Scotland, clearly we have talent at a young level at this club.

Otherwise why are Scottish talent getting snapped up by Bayern, Lisbon, Chelsea, etc

But the pathway from youth setup to first team is shocking.

It's (for me) why guys like Dembele and connell are woefully mismanaged.
Some say they (Dembele) have bad attitudes, but wouldn't we all, if you get to the age of 17-19 and are absolutely blowing it up at every age level, then hit that point where you need game time, first team game time, and the manager (at the time) refused to play you, even let you train with the first team?

The connection (lack of) between youth setup(Dev squad) and first team is woeful.

I moaned last week about the colts team only being allowed in to the lowland leagues, but news that we could be allowed in to the actual spfl setup is very welcome as that would help bridge a small part of the gap.

Inevitably though, the manager and coaches at first team level MUST integrate talent better.

It's where a director of football AND a full structural integration of all teams becomes very much needed at times.

If he can get some of them up to speed and on board, he's got great potential talent in the likes of Mikey Johnston and Dembele, who I think would really excite him

Both need a first team player playing in front of them in the pecking order, but I've great hope that those tow match sharp will see a lot of game time and chances to then take the position as their own.

Ahhhh I remember the time I used to speculate what types of signings we would get, sitting up watching SSN on deadline day, oh here it comes live from Celtic Park “Gary do you have any news?” “Celtic say they’ve concluded their business, no signings but they tried in a very difficult market”

Get used to hearing that * on a 6 monthly basis.

 

We will be looking for players now not after the qualifiers the team is a mess key players are gone loans gone and some leaving there is no chance there not looking for players irrespective of the cl qualifiers or not.

 

May I kindly remind everyone, that while we havent yet signed anyone, its the same marketplace that we are working in that also no other club have signed Ajer, Edouard etc. So if they havent gone is it any surprise that we havent actually signed anyone yet? I agree we need new blood, but lets not panic just yet.

 

Not heard of any high profile moves across Europe, while yes we need signings I’m sure 100s of clubs will be saying the same.

 

Why should that matter? We brought in roughly £18 million from the sales of frimpong elhamed klimala and hendry. We should be signing atleast 3 players now to be in the squad for midjjyland.

 

That 18 million estimation is a stretch

 

The large percentage of players around Europe are still on holiday. Add to that Euros things will be slow. It’s our own fault for being punted into the 1st/2nd round of qualifying.

 

Frimpong 11m elhamed 1.5m klimala 3.5m hendry 2m even if these figures arent exact they are not far off which is why i said roughly 18m. Even if its 15m for talking sake, the money is there for signings.

 

Vuskovic clearly isnt on holiday. Pay the money and get him over here instead of * about as usual.

 

Of those 100s of clubs how many don't have a recognised first team RB and european qualifiers starting in a few weeks?

 

I would go far to say Keeper to an extent, Captain holding type player and a left winger. Centre half just to add as well.

The guys been in with the team for what 1 week now? How do you assess what positions you need, who wants to stay who wants to go etc.

Postecoglu needs serious backing from the board, the size of the overhaul is massive. No dithering, no dragging on, no wait-until-the-final-day-of-the-window, no looking for the cheapest option.

Is the leadership there to deliver this? Do they realize what´s needed? If so, will they actually deliver?
Given what went on for most of last season, I´m not optimistic.

 

I’ll be very surprised to see anyone come in until the euros are over. That’s not suggesting we’ll be buying anyone from an international team that participated in them since based on our recent recruitment, we buy *.
