My mistake. He's still pretty hot property in the managerial scene I would imagine. He would be a real coup for us in terms of prestige. Again, I don't see him as realistic. Much more realistic than the others mentioned though.

True, but I just don't see what we can realistically do to change things.

If season book sales drop significantly then hopefully that would be a kick up the * for the club. But there's too many people who will renew, regardless of the state of the club, for that to happen.

Aye because of the board * about for as long as they did with Lennon and after he left, they have all but conceded next season already. Whoever comes in now is on a hiding to nothing I think.

So everyone else other than Ange and I assume you will say Keane and guys of that stature as it suits your argument are the only realistic options ?

I'm not tailoring anything to my argument. I'm simply calling it as I see it. Trpisovsky is not a realistic target for us in all likelihood. I would hope we at least asked the question though.

If everyone was being honest, if Postecoglou is the best option we have available, then we are in a bad way.

The Super League protests were successful though. The backlash from fans, media, politicans was the reason they backtracked.

Celtic fans actually have a distinct advantage over affecting change than any of these EPL clubs.

    1. We collectively own 19% of the shares already through the McCann issue in the 90s

    2. Fans make up a huge part of our annual revenue through season tickets, merchandise, Celtic TV and indirectly through sponsorship. Without our ongoing participation they can't run the club as it is.

Change is possible but it will only come about if people can humble themselves under a collective goal and end the petty slagging of figureheads or fans groups with differing views.

Nobody better than Ange, on paper at least. I had resigned myself to the idea of Jack Ross, Frank Lampard, Roy Keane, Paul Lambert etc once the Howe deal fell through.

Of those mentioned I would take Ange as well. I think we could do far better though

Some amount of polishing with this one. This is going to be an absolute disaster.

He ain't going to be some random, out of the blue, trendsetting, game changing manager in Scotland like Wenger was when Arsenal went to Japan.

The fact our board go from Howe to this guy is evident that the only reason they'd go that far in their search is to find someone, somewhere, who hasn't heard about their ways of running a club and just how much of basket case we are.

This is a joke and should be treated as such, they want to play games, then we try and use monopoly money.

To an extent. I don't think fan protests were the reason the Super League fell through. It was down to, as you say, the media, politicians, players of the clubs involved speaking out against it, sponsors pulling out, talk of clubs being kicked out of domestic competitions etc.

My point is about the fans down south protesting to get rid of the owners/board. There was the incident with the Man Utd fans getting their game postponed. Since then? Pretty quiet on the protest front.

I'd love it if we could all go to Celtic Park, protest, get rid of the board and get in people who care about the club and show ambition. But it just isn't going to happen. We both know it.

Physical protests are only good from optics point of view of bringing immediate exposure to an issue.

The reason you're not seeing a continuation of them down south is that the involved clubs have pulled out, their primary goal has been achieved. There will be a lingering distrust for years to come between board and fans, how that plays out remains to be seen.

The real way that we can affect change is through a fans group or coalition of fans groups with an agreed shared aim(s)

Is it possible? Aye, it happened in the 90s.

Is it likely? I don't know.

Too many seem to focus on inconsequential stuff unrelated to the primary goals that end up splintering the support eg.

"David Low's a * * joining the trust." "The North Curve are fannies that let off pyro, they don't speak for me."
"The Bhoys held up a nasty banner against Lennon, I'm disgusted, * them"
"Jeanette Findlay has different views on trans issues.....disgusting"
"*Enter individuals name* is just a blazer chaser, * them!"

The result is Divide and Conquer. The support is splintered into so many different factions and groups with incoherent aims that then makes it easy for the Board to ignore.

Will that change? I don't know but I certainly hope so.

I honestly think the board are a * bunch of amateurs. We need get a manager in that can change our mentality straight away and I don't think this guy is anywhere near that.

I know nothing about him. He may be a diamond but we can't afford to be gambling. We need a proven guy now more than ever.

Ah, so he's a worse choice than Keane, Lampard, Ross and Lambert?
