He moved to Leverusen in January for less than £2.5m. Only played 9 times since then so deal would be possible. Would be a good addition. McCarthy is also a decent signing for free. As would Josh king and Steve cook.

I'd take Gray if he was cheap. Always looked like a player with potential but never developed. He's rapid though and we need some pace in the squad

nah as @Seán Mac D says if we could get an experienced head next to him to maybe compensate for his lack of pace, he could be our starting centre half for next couple of years. Kelvin Wilson could be a good shout.

Daniel Majstorovic is only 44, we could easily get a couple years out of him. Especially given how naturally athletic and light on his feet he’s always been.

Only signed an 18 month contract with Leverkusen as well. Did Howe try and sign him for Bournemouth?

I honestly have no idea. Howe has always been a fan of young english talent though. Wouldn't surprise me. 18 month deal seems strange for a player of that calibre. He's certainly the type of player who could flourish here. It's not as if he done terrible for Leicester either. Was just struggling for game time under Rodgers.

If you bring in Gray for less than £3m, Cook on a free, McCarthy on a free and King on a free, you're doing phenomenal buisness.

Would have to spend a bit to get him, but Denis Bouanga at St Etienne could be a good option. He’s a right-footed LW, and can play on the right too.

Of all the people we are losing, I think we can get decent replacements within our budget. We know there is going to be a massive rebuilding job but we need to utilise the free transfers that will ultimately become available this year and to maybe pick up a couple of loan players in positions which we need.

We stand to lose or let go of Brown, Griffiths, Ralston and Henderson for no money.
We will probably sell our main assets in Edouard, Ajer, Christie.
We lose all our loan players and none will return in Moi, Laxalt, Kenny and Duffy
We have to make a decision on the loan players that are currently away like Shved, Bayo, Hendry, Robertson, Connel, OConnor, Ntcham and Bolingoli.

If we didn't have any players back from loan(apart from the youth in Robertson and Connel) and sold our main assets, we could potenitally achieve what? £55m?
    Eddy £20m
    Ajer £15m
    Christie £8m
    Shved £2m
    Bayo £3m
    Hendry £2m
    Ntcham £3m
    Boli £3m

We also have the £14.5m from the sales of Paddy and Frimpong in January/April.

So I was just arsing about and I tried to put together a group of players who could be replacements for the guys we have lost.

So Adam Armstrong and Josh King for Eddy and Griffiths. (I know Armstrong would be expensive but we paid £9m for Eddy and King would be free)
Steve Cook and Victor Nelson for Duffy and Ajer. (Cook is free and again I think Nelson would be expensive)
Roman Peraud as first choice left back. (not sure on the price)
    McCarthy for Brown (free)
Demari Gray and Reiss Nelson for Moi and Christie(Demari Gray wouldn't be expensive, Reiss Nelson on loan would be a good shout)

I know we also need a keeper and I'm not his biggest fan but I am sure David Marshall is free from this season too so could pick him up for * all.

So, if we played a 4-2-3-1 like we have done multiple times, you could have a team like this :

    Marshall
    (Barkas)

New RB Victor Nelson Chris Julien Romain Perraud
    (Welsh) (Cook) (Taylor)

    McCarthy McGregor
    (soro) (connel)

    Forrest Turnbull Gray
    (R. Nelson) (Rogic) (Johnstone)

    Armstrong
    (King)

Not said much about the right backs because truth be told, I don't know that many. Heard the likes of Coleman is out of contract and he would be good for a year. Also heard about the young dutch boy from Den Haag was it?

All in, if we took in £70m in sales(including the frimpong and Paddy money) we could replace them with 4 major signings in

    Nelsson £10m
    Perraud £8m
    Gray £4m
    Armstrong £12m

Might be being completely stupid and wasting my time but I was bored and decided to have a wee think.

Gray signed for leverkusen in January, perraud would be about 12million and i belive defensively we would have an iszue with him but he would be better than what we have but i would be making doig my priority for that position ,
Adam armstrong i think would command maybe 5 or 6 million which i would be ok with , viktor nelsson i would be fine with but again i think 5 or 6 million , mcarthy and king on frees are no brainers , cook i read actually has a year left on his contract but think a bid of 3 million would get him which i would be fine with, wouldnt mind ferguson coming in also from aberdeen , boy is 21 with loads of experience and i think he will only improve be a pler but wouldnt go by 4 million, would also bring dembele and harris from peterborough which i think we could get bother for around 5millon

Not even the worst suggestion when Chico Mulgrew is being branded about, although I think (hope) that was a joke
