    No way..

    Genuinely, i think he's * murder..

A hatchet man with very little technical ability..

No just saying that cause he's a mutant either..

Actually feel like a "congratulations" is due in some way.

Firstly, glad we aren't handing this deal out to him, with all due respect, he needs to do this away from Celtic.

Mostly though, a great position for him. I don't think he can offer two full seasons on the pitch, but the ability to do the coaching/assistant side of things is key for him and his future career, set himself up well to find out if he can step up to things away from the pressure of Celtic and the risk of a legacy being tarnished again.

Guy truly is a club legend in every sense of the word. Captained us through the entire 9 in a row, an invincible season and then a quadruple treble. One of few men who took part in all of that! Take a bow Brown, leave with all the best wishes in the world and good luck!

Maybe, one day, IF he proves himself capable we could see him back at Celtic!

John Kennedy said Scott Brown is the perfect example of what every professional should strive for and added the Celtic captain would be greatly missed when he leaves the club.

Brown announced earlier today (Thursday) that he would bid farewell to Celtic at the end of the season after 14 years with the club. The Hoops captain will take up a player/coach position at Aberdeen next season alongside Stephen Glass.

Celtic’s interim manager John Kennedy was full of praise for Brown as he gave his reaction to the announcement and described the Hoops captain as ‘irreplaceable’.

“He’s been a terrific captain and leader of the group,” said John Kennedy. “He’ll be irreplaceable in terms of what he gives us on a daily basis, his drive to be successful and how he leads the group by example every single day. It’s very difficult to replace that but in terms of what he’s given us, with his attitude and application us second to none.

'He’s the perfect example of a modern-day professional. How he lives his life, the condition he keeps himself in and how he pushes himself every single day is incredible.'

“He’s the guy coaches and always look to in order to take some of the burden off other players. You always know Scott’s there and every match day you hear him before games and you hear him on the pitch.

“He drives the training forward every day. He’s a massive character, a huge personality and he’s been a massive part of this club for so long and he’ll certainly be missed.”

“I’d love to have had more time with him and seen him bring more success to the club but it’s his own personal decision and we have to respect that. He’s given so much of his life to us and we wish him all the best moving forward.

“He’s one of the greats of this club, that’s without doubt, and that’ll only grow as time passes. He’s a huge part of the club and he always will be in my eyes.

“He’s very much focused on his playing and finishing well here. In terms of his attributes, he’s very coach-like in terms of how he conducts himself and the way he leads by example and behaves himself. That’s a part of coaching as well so he has a great base there to be a great coach.”

John Kennedy attributed Brown’s incredible success with Celtic to his work ethic and desire to always help the team. He said Brown’s career will serve as a template for other young players to follow.

“With young players, they might have the talent but that alone isn’t enough to be successful,” he said. “It comes down to attitude and application. I remember Scott as a young player at Hibs and his desire on the pitch was outstanding.

“When you see him up close you realise that desire he brings on a matchday is there every day in training. His unselfishness to make others better, as well as himself, is an outstanding quality to have and it’s why he’s been the captain of this club for so long. He’s a massive part of why this club has been so successful.

“He doesn’t do things for his own benefit. Scott is very much a guy who does everything for the benefit of the team and the club. The way he leads on a daily basis, the way he leads in the dressing room and how he performs on the pitch is all for the team to be successful.”

I’m honestly not sad about this at all strangely. It’s a natural progression and a great career move for him.. It also signals the turning of a leaf at Celtic at exactly the time we need to turn a new leaf. What a Celtic career he’s had.. incredible performances in Europe are what I’ll remember him for most. Best of luck Scott.

On AFC chat there for a deek! Most are happy about it, there are some who despise him though due to the 'Logan Saga'
Almost all saying they have needed a '*' in the team for years.
Made me think, can you see McGregor getting stuck in to folk? Were gonni miss this commanding figure both on and off the field.

This is why I felt we should have gone all in on Ben Pearson, especially on a free. He's been mint for Bournemouth since they signed him too. We're going to have to try find someone who can fit that profile of being a dominant presence in midfield.

Soro has proved he is good wee player but if he is the replacement for Broony then i feel we are downsizing. Id like to see Desmond open his wallet and provide a big signing to replace a player who is leaving a massive hole in our team. Desmond had better get control of this situation because the rebuilding process is getting bigger everyday, if the talk of Keane becoming then next manager is true then he has no idea what he is doing.

Good decision Broony to exit the club on a high before his reputation gets too tarnishEd over this horrible season , he will get sufficient game time in Aberdeen and hopefully start a long career in management .
Wise decision Broony and I wish you well .

Bit like the opening to Moneyball, I don't think there's another Brown out there to replace him like-for-like so there's no point looking.

We're going to have to think creatively for our transition. Something I'm not confident we'll do as we're run by * idiots from top to bottom.

Could have done with keeping him for next season as his experience would have helped.
Not looking forward to him playing against us either.
Still, I certainly wish him all the best and good luck in the future as he's earned that.

Been a fantastic servant for us, but this is definitely the right thing for us. Up until this season he has aged well, but it has caught up with him this season, lockdown I think played a big part in his decline. He just didn't come back anywhere near the same player, he looked miles off the pace for long enough. He has been a tremendous captain in his time and although his ability as a player won't be hard to replace in my opinion, his ability as a leader will be. It's a shame his time won't end with him lifting the league title, but lifting the Scottish Cup would be a nice ending for him. Pretty sure he will leave with everyone's best wishes, but it is the right time.
