In his second spell he’s been the worst Celtic manager in my lifetime.

He never established a style of football and the players didn’t look as if they were coached on any game plan for any of our matches whatsoever.

His first spell was woeful as well minus some memorable moments in his first season in which we still lost the league, and a memorable CL campaign.

Added to that he’s a completely despicable human being. The way he has treated the fans who once idolised him is * sickening.

Toeing the party line like a wee *, praising his masters Lawwell and Desmond after scraping by Hearts on penalties.

The disrespect shown throughout the post Dubai debacle was akin to spitting in the face of those who have lost family members to this pandemic.

Humility is just not in this arrogant clown’s vocabulary and he better not be seen anywhere near our ground again.

Relief, thats the over riding feeling here. Been angry for too long. Finally a step in the right direction albeit to late in the season. Time will tell how NL legacy will be reviewed. But for now its great he's going.

Its now time to appoint the right people, in their specialised roles and get this club up-to-date with modern day fitba.

NEIL LENNON is set to leave Celtic in the next 24 hours.

SunSport understands the Hoops board have been in crisis talks since Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Ross County.

Lennon’s second spell as Celtic boss is expected to end imminently - with No2 John Kennedy put in interim charge.

Celtic’s horror season went from bad to worse in Dingwall - leaving them 18 points behind Rangers.

Lennon is now set to depart the club he has served as player, coach and manager for the best part of two decades.

The 49-year-old has been under huge pressure for the last five months, with punters calling for him to be axed.

But Celtic powerbrokers Dermot Desmond and Peter Lawwell stayed loyal to the club legend.

They wanted to at least give him until the end of the season - despite the ten-in-a-row bid crumbling.

But a parting of the ways is now imminent - two years on from Lennon’s return as boss in February 2019.

The Northern Irishman replaced Brendan Rodgers after his sudden exit to Leicester City.

He previously bossed Celtic between 2010 and 2014 - guiding them to the last 16 of the Champions League.

Lennon teamed up with Kennedy as assistant on his return and steered Celtic over the line in the Premiership and Scottish Cup.

He then claimed another Treble after the Hoops won the delayed 2019/20 Scottish Cup in December.

But Celtic were already out of this season’s Betfred Cup after a humiliating 2-0 defeat to County in late November.

That led to shocking protests outside Parkhead - with raging punters having to be held back by cops.

The Hoops also trailed Rangers in the league after a poor start and had exited the Champions League qualifiers.

Big-money signings Vasilis Barkas and Albian Ajeti failed to convince and star man Odsonne Edouard was unsettled.

Boli Bolingoli’s secret Spanish trip also led to Celtic having two games called off - forcing them to play catch-up to Gers.

Celtic’s Europa League results piled more pressure on Lennon - with successive 4-1 defeats to Sparta Prague.

The Hoops rallied in December but the Old Firm defeat to Rangers at Ibrox on January 2 was another blow to their title hopes.

Lennon took Celtic to Dubai for a training camp but that trip ended in controversy and a positive Covid test for Chris Jullien.

The manager, Kennedy and 13 players were forced into isolation - leaving No3 Gavin Strachan in charge.

An understrength Celtic drew with Hibs and Livingston - and were then held again by the Lions when Lennon returned.

Further losses to St Mirren and Ross County left the faltering title bid in tatters as Rangers romped ahead.

Lennon - who SunSport revealed had been backed to continue in early January - came under intense pressure.

He pointed to “mitigating factors” and revealed certain players had wanted away since the summer.

When Celtic finally issued their club review in February, there was no mention of his long-term future.

Desmond and the outgoing Lawwell were keen to stand by their man before an expected parting of the ways in the summer.

But the situation worsened on Sunday night after the struggling Staggies again stunned the Hoops.

Lennon is now set to be taken out of the firing line - with Kennedy expected to be installed as caretaker boss.

The former Hoops player has filled various backroom roles and is highly thought of by staff and players.

Gavin Strachan is set to assist Kennedy, with a third coach being appointed from within.

They are likely to be in charge for Saturday’s home clash against Aberdeen - as Celtic begin the hunt for a new gaffer.

Lawwell’s replacement Dominic McKay starts in the summer, with the Hoops also looking for a director of football in a new structure.

Honestly just glad it's over with. I pray we take a look at managers on our list and pick the right one.

Months too late, the damage has already been done. We'll be feeling the effects of the decision to appoint him permanently second time around for years to come and that's not taking into account mention the spectacular * up of one of the most important seasons in the clubs history.

A celtic man my *, if he was he'd have walked months ago when it was apparent he was well out his depth and was destroying the club (even though the decision should have been taken out his hands).

After the first hun defeat it was an uphill task but our season was still salvageable with someone competent in the dugout but we stuck with this clown and here we are, about to lose the league to an average hun side in our own backyard.

The guy should have left the club a legend but he's completely ruined that and it's not something time will heal.

You just fear how much long term damage his reign has done behind the scenes, the next manager has a huge task on his hands clearing up lennon's mess.

He won’t be getting a nice nostalgic send off from me.

If he walked months ago admitting he wasn’t the man I’d of respected him. But he’s dragged this out while treating fans like * and throwing players to the wolves.

I’ll still not resort to abusing him.

Good riddance. Go join Sutton at the pundit's desk. Two failed managers.

    Fucken finally man.

Board going about it all in about the worst way possible is concerning though.

What the utter * has happened this season?

Anyway its done and a big step in the right direction has been finally made; despite the omnishamble board.

Broony needs to go prove himself as a coach / manager first. The idea of Broony in the dugout right now is giving me the fear.

Kind of weird looking at the earlier pages, seeing all the praise he was getting and even people saying they'd take him after Rodgers left. Mental how things turn out.

About time, should have been punted months ago, in fact, should never have got the gig full time, should have been thanked after Hearts cup final win and sent packing then. But cheap option I guess.
Some will remember him as the man who guided us to the 9.
But many will always remember him as the man who screwed up the 10.
Everything, from recruitment to tactics, he was so out of his depth.

"sacked" from his last three positions.

Not a good look for a managers CV.

He has my best wishes for the future, plum that he is, and I've no hatred for him. Only immeasurable disappointment in his performance and attitude.

He came back to Celtic claiming his travels had made him a calmer person and a better manager. I don't think anyone thinks that is the case now.

I really hope he finds his feet in punditry. Because like his fellow Irishman Roy Keane, his ego us too much for the modern game, and his inability to shoulder responsibility, as well as his penchant for finger pointing and apportioning blame is divisive and self destructive....but he's not a bad watch in a punditry chair.

I'd like to say thanks Neil, but I can't. Not yet.

    So good luck Neil.

    Is it finally true?

To be honest, I'm just as angry at this news and it's timing as I was with him still being here before now.

Being sacked at this stage, after all this *, it's * pointless.
Unless it comes with a full scale apology to the fans (from the club) then it's all a slap in the face to us.

Raged at this for months, screaming for action to be taken sooner rather than later.

They've waited till it was far too late.

If he really is gone, I'll tell you what - I'm having a beer tonight.

Thank * and * off Neil.

Not a chance and at this stage I wouldn't believe a word he says on the subject either.
