Romanian press says that Tamas and Celtic haven´t reached an agreement about his wage (they are negotiating in Paris). Friday the talks will continue.

The other centre back of the Romanian NT, Dorin Goian, has been offered to Celtic by the agent Ioan Becali. The costs wouldn´t be so high in his case and it´s very clear that Steaua will sell him this summer. If Tamas thing fails, he could be an option.

I can see this being a drawn out affair. To be honest, if we don't get him signed today, I reckon, going on previous Strachan/Lawell form, we'll pull out of the deal and that'll be the last we hear of this fella. Stokes, L. Miller, Rigters, Maloney and Broto will have to shuffle along a bit on the "could've been stars" bench, to make room.

From BBC Sport Website - Auxerre defender Gabriel Tamas says he expects to join Celtic by the end of the week. (Daily Mail)

Looks ok, so fingers of crossedness.

Also read that The Dark Side's injury list is growing ahead of their CL games - Ha f^cking ha, you bunch of titwanks!

Rumoured to be trebling his wages if he moves - let's face facts, 6k a week is f^cking pocket change in the modern era for anyone with talent....

I hope it's at least one of them, if not both. I rate Goian especially high. And Tamas shouldn't be worse than him, as he plays in one of the 5 top Europe's leagues.

thats not the Lawwell way, i'm afraid. he doesn't stop until he gets a good deal. if he doesn't get the deal he deems acceptable, he walks away from the negotiation table. he will hammer Tamas down and down untill he accepts £3.26 a week.

in reality, i think Tamas will be lucky to get £15k a week from Lawwell.

I said before Lawwell was stingy, and I'll say it again. He should know we can easily afford much more than Tamas is asking...

But that trying might cost us some good players... Tamas isn't greedy, FFS! I think Mizuno, who is in the Reserves, has much more than 18K...

There's no way Mizuno is on over 18K a week.

    6K tops

I'm starting to question if this is going to happen. Its went very quiet in the past few days. Nothing in the papers, nothing on teletext and not much that we don't already know on the net. In ways that is a good thing. Just hope this gets concluded soon and we can focus on other targets. They where hoping to get him in for the game tonight so there has been some sort of hold up somewhere!
