If we think it is bad here in the West of Scotland amid the stupidity of the Celtic-Rangers thing, spare a thought for other poor nations who have to put up with the same mindless thuggery.

Apparantly, after doing some reading, the rivalry between Wisla and Cracovia is just as bad with a Wilsa fan being murdered last year.

What the * is wrong with people that they cant just let their steam off at the ground vocally?

I think really it comes down to IQ, well a lack of it anyway.

Any Poles like to fill us in with the details?

Someone sent me some info the other day on the violence in polish football, got some pictures too, not a pretty site.

For some reason scotland and england seem to get the worse media coverage on the matter. Italy, Spain and even Ireland have organised riots/fighting but for some reason it's not documented as much.

I don`t know why, and which is couse of it but yes-
Stadiums in Poland are not nice place to go with family or something.
It`s sad and in this subject we are still in 3rd world...
Really i don`t know what to say about it couse for example we have THE BEST SUPPORT of volleyball in world (better than brasil or Argentina) and i`m not say it couse i`m Pole, it`s true.
But at football stadiums... I think that is couse of poor in our country and.
many people get 200E for month (10hours per day) and majority at stadiums is people from this poorest families couse tickets are cheap[and sometimes they usually go without tickets couse police cannot stop them]. It`s normal that in group they feel better and this "groups" usually used to be agressive and for example "hunting" for supporters from other clubs.
But is so deply in mantality that nothing will change it I think.
When John Poul II died this year, suporters of Wisla and Cracovia go TOGETHER to pray for him, but even then, they told to camera that is only one day of being friends.
Next week few people go to hospital after "meeting" of them.
    Ehh, sad :(
But I must say that some things are changing (stadions become safier and people start getting more money and they loose theirs frustration)
Slowly but maybe few years and it will look different.
    I hope so...

I also have a video file (22 MB) of a fight between Arka Gdynia hools and… well, I don’t know who they are fighting. It was recorder from national television so it’s not very brutal. If you know a place where I can upload the file, I’ll be willing to share it.

But yeah, hools in Poland can get a little rough, but some stories are not meant to be shared.

Sad but true. Feyenoord-Ajax, Celtic-Huns - those games looks
like friendly meetings compared to some games in Polish
leagues. It's not only Ektraklasa but the same * goes around
in lower divisions ( I was nearly killed once during Gryf - Arka
game so I just gave it up, and YES HH it's hard to survive
even with an axe ;-) ).

Polish football stadium is the LAST place you'd want to visit
    with your family.

Why nobody is doing anything ??? Because it's convenient
for the government. With 20% overall unemployment
and 35-40% in the group of 18-24 years old, with
millions of Poles fleeing away ( to Germany, USA, England
Irleland etc. ) - it's better if they fight and kill each other
on the stadiums than start riots on the streets

Sad for me to say it but Poland really is a *-up
    country.
    And I won't take * from no * 'cause
I lived here for 26 years since I was born and I know
    what I'm talking about !!! :47:

APPENDIX to my last post ( to all those * who think they would be patriotic by * at me )

I worked for 1 year as an English teacher ( keep laughing guys but my English is good enough to give kids some basics ) in former-PGR ( remember PGR's guys ? I bet you do ) earning a * money - 100 euros a month.

I never regret a single minute I spent there - those kids were great - disciplined but joyful and I would teach them again for free if I hadn't my own family now to take care of.

I also helped polish minority in Belarus as much as I could by sending them
books and medicines ( I also took care that they receive polish press and weekly magazines ).

SO DO AS LITTLE AS I DID FOR POLAND THEN YOU CAN COME
HERE AND * AT ME FOR CALLING POLAND - "*-UP"
    COUNTRY !!!

The government is to be blamed for violence still existing in Polish football. I reckon the government did a lot in Britain to kick violence, rcism etc out of British football. Clubs in Poland are generally poor and simly don't have enough money to build necessary facilitie which would stop hooliganism.

No, I've read an article, where it was written that even some educated people (university students, businessmen) enjoy fighting just for the sake of releasing their surplus of adrenaline.

Luckily those brainless * are rather fighting outside the stadiums now, their skirmishes aren't really dangerous for others.

Presence in the media is making the hoolies proud and encourages others to do it. So why media should give hooliganism free advertising campaign.

I think for many of hools or ultras (die hard supporters call themeselves like this in Poland) it's simply the way of life. Adrenaline, hate, violence and alcohol. We Poles drink way too much, and drunk people often get aggressive. These guys are not exception. It's not about intelligence or so.
There's also racism amongst many of hools, and some friendships, eg. between Cracovia, Korona Kielce and Polonia Warszawa.

Good on ye mate! Now we know why your English is so good. But the wages are deplorable in Polans, are they not?

Is there a black market in Poland using the USD$?

When I spent some time in Russia, the currency everyone wanted was USD$, even though it was illegal.

Corruption is that bad, a couple of mates of mine, got cornered by some Moscovite Police on their way back to our hotel and they demanded USD$ of of them for not having their passports on them. (The HOTEL, which was a 5* International Reputable one, told us NOT to take our passports outside the hotel for security but to leave them all in the VAULT at the hotel)

Anyway one of my mates totally freaked (the Police had guns remember and were being very nasty trying to bribe them) and ran for it and fell and smashed his jaw open....What a night.

Complaints obviously went to the British Consul, but * whats the point in a country where corruption is a multi million dollar business.

By the way, I am not comparing the Poles with the Russians, just the after effects of a Soviet occupation.

One day I will tell you all about the internal flight I took from St Petersburg to Moscow.......Fucksaxes......SCARY.

No, I don't think there is a black market using USD - Polish zloty is the only used, hard currency ( the problem is that 5 million Poles doesn't have enough of Zlotys to live a decent life ).

Corruption unfortunately is very high ( i think we have the same corruption as the likes of Uganda or Zimbabwe )

One day I'll tell you about those kids in PGR - it'll feckin' make you cry
as it made me on couple of occasions :-(

100 euros/month is a vely low wage, but our government seems not to understand why education is so important nowadays. Black market existed before 1989, when we had communism in Poland, now it is marginalized

  14. South America is the worst, players get shot!

Also, for comments about the wages and things similar in Poland, why not use the Political Forum? Not that it's my place to say. Maybe just an idea, you could debate about it also.

No. To be true Poland have problem at stadiums.
But it`s only one our disadventage :D

And even this problems... last time I noticed something strange- that other supporters appreciate your honour.

When I was going home month age, small group of people from "other side of supporting" stopped me and asked [like always they always do it in Poland]:
    "Which team do you support?
I don`t know which club is theirs so I had 50/50, and I answer :
`GKS` with all my heart! (it`s true and I was hoping they also will)

But they support our biggest rival...
and tell me that only couse i`m so proude of my team they leave me :))

this is excactly what I wanted to show you :))
    "still in middle age" :]
I had this film on PC, it`s old but nothing change.
    but, you know bhoywunda...
for me this "battles" are better way that demaging stadiums.
If some idiots of one club want to kill idiots from other...
It will be less idiots on the streets or stadiums.

But it`s pathology, not every day happen.
