The smart move for him is to send out a second string tomorrow and just say, get some experience away to a top Italian side, no pressure to get a result here at all.

It would possibly save him a touch of grief and protect some of the first team from even more demoralisation.

Whatever team goes out, they are on for a pumping anyway.

I’d reluctantly say put a full team out, take a pumping to put more pressure on getting him out the door quicker but I don’t see the board reacting to any result against Milan away from home.

Please, is there anyone out there with a bit of good news -even if it's some * from your taxi driver. Seriously, 4 days on from that debacle on Sunday and we are still no further forward.

I honestly don't think meant that because he said it wasn't good enough about five times. I think he should be taking himself out of these pressers for a couple of games and letting Kennedy stand in.

He is an average manager at best and, the main problem is, he genuinely thinks that he's a great one. The fact that he could only get a job at Bolton after leaving us in 2014 should tell you something about the wider perception of his abilities.

He was in the right place at the right time when Rodgers left and, if he had gone in the summer of 2019, that would have been best for all. His record at Bolton and Hibs did not entitle him to be manager here.

The club has regressed massively since he took over - like it or not, Rodgers brought the club into the 21st century. The standards have declined over the last 18 months - Rangers have been by far the better team on the last 3 meetings and we have been frankly embarrassing this season.

I don't know why you think he is not "thinking straight" - he has never been very good tactically and always had the tendency to throw players under the bus and take no responsibility himself - even during his first tenure. His "man management" techniques at Hibs ended up with the players going to the board and demanding his removal.

To the people who say "if only he had his own backroom team" - he accepted the conditions of the job when he came back (because he knew that he was lucky to get the job) - frankly any top manager would have told PL to stuff it.

I did not want him back but I'm truly sorry that it seems to be going to end pretty badly. That's as much DD/PL's fault as Lennon - his bizarre team selections, substitutions, after match comments and blaming everyone but himself have been tolerated for far too long.

I realize that you don't think he can deliver 10 but you seem to think that, if Celtic were able to give him enough time, he would turn it around.

I see no evidence for that at all, he is clearly out of his depth. He never learns from his mistakes, blames everyone else and each press conference is an embarrassment.

His legacy is diminished with each passing day I'm sorry to say - he gives the impression of hanging around for a payoff. I'm sure that DD would be reasonable if they did a "mutual consent" deal. If Lennon insists on being sacked after what he's delivered this season - it doesn't say much for his self respect or respect for the club.

He is delusional enough to think he'll get another big job - IMO, it'll be at least 1 league down or we'll be watching him as a BT pundit.

Lenny has fallen into the same trap that Eddy, Cham et, al have already fallen into. They all believe that they're better than they are. And why is that? It's us! We're to blame! We * them up, idolize them and put them on pedestals. We make them think that they're superstars when in reality they're mediocre. It just so happens that Lenny has been around that wee bit longer. He's had a full stadium singing his praises so he's caught up and believes the hype. It's what gives him that edge of arrogance and self belief no matter how questionable. We create monsters. Look at Sevco with frog face. Hyped him up into believing he was going to go for gazillions!

I feel the same. If you'd asked me six months ago who my favourite ever Celt is, I would have said Neil Lennon. That's gone in the last three weeks. He's talking out his * *, repeating the same * in post match interviews week after week, he's hurting the club but he won't walk away from it. I have a signed picture of him in my bedroom and it is currently face down on the table. I can't even bear to look at him right now. The sight of him just makes me start feeling angry.

We'll be 20 points behind the uglies, Lenny will feel he can turn it around, nothing to worry about, we're just in a bad moment at the moment, we've had a lot of bad luck, lack of supporters and Russian interference has cost us points.

I can assure all fans there is nothing to worry about, i'm the man to deliver the 10.

I'm not overly keen on rehashing this argument with anyone. It makes me feel bad and it's kind of moot anyway (given that we all agree he's not the right man to take us forward from here).

It's pointless anyway, because we will never agree. There are a fair few people on here who I currently disagree with, but who might conceivably some day convince me that Lennon was not good enough to manage Celtic- it's possible; but you will never convince me to share your contemptuous assessment of him.

Also, fairly or unfairly, I honestly can't help feeling a juvenile glee in your criticism of Lenny that goes beyond the anger that a lot of other posters feel and so I really don't want to interact with you any further on the specific topics of whether Lennon is an incompetent manager (see the parts of your post that I bolded above) or on discussing any character flaws you might feel he has (see the parts of your post I put in bolded and underlined italics).

If you still want to talk about it, I am willing to debate whether he was ever good enough for Celtic (though it's a moot point). It is perfectly possible for you to argue that he was never good enough to manage Celtic this time without needing to argue that he combines the managerial ability of John Barnes with the character and self-awareness of Brendan Rodgers.

I am also more than happy to talk about the one thing we agree on, which is that he's not the man to take us forward from here.

Why is he constantly insulting fans intelligence being condescending towards fans feelings and opinions? He’s slowly becoming vile to me, staying in spite almost. Hasn’t a clue what he’s at
