What's going to happen is lenny will play him in a big game against players that are a level or two above spl and he will get found out badly, booked and maybe sent off. Why the * lenny has him playing 90 mins i have no idea.

The season before the snake took over word was Broony was finished. He was done and was a liability. I disagreed and fought his corner. Lo and behold he went in to have the season of his life in the invincible run.

Now we have the same noises again, only this time I can't back him.

He's 35 and it shows. He's two yards of pace and toiling game by game. He's not Maldini and must be dropped for the sake of the 10, we can't win this league by playing every game effectively a man down.

There are one of two things happening here, either Lennon is completely blind to Broony's decline or he's lost the dressing room and is keeping his allies close.

Either one is extremely worrying. And either one is cause enough to look into a managerial replacement.

Broony has been an outstanding signing and a model professional/captain for us..

I don't want it to be a sour season stating the obvious when so much us riding on this..

Just want him to be used sparingly and there to lift the 10. He deserves it..

Disagree about him no being a natural 6. I know he wasn't in his younger day's but he's been absolutely outstanding for us in there for quite a while..

This is just a season too much for his leg's though..

I was agreeing with you until the last sentence. Too early for that. We are top of the league on merit whilst not playing well and the currants having are having an alleged record breaking season

Lenny saying broony can’t play all the games this season and will need to be managed so he does see it

Well, I've got a plan. Phone Neil Lennon/Scott Brown and tell him his Covid19 test came back positive and that he has to isolate for two weeks. I know, I know - it's not a very nice thing to do but NL is acting an * and I want to see what a post-Brown strategy can look like.

Am I exaggerating the threat posed by NOT dropping Brown?

    I digress.

NEIL LENNON insists Scott Brown knows he can’t play as many games nowadays.

The Celtic skipper turned 35 in June and boss Lennon has vowed to manage him through the latest congested campaign.

He said: “It’s common sense. Broony knows he’ll not be able to play all the games — but he’s very fit, as he always has been.

“He’s injury free and his form is good because in these last few games he’s come into his own. We’ll have a conversation with him as we go along about dipping in and out.

There may be games where he could do with putting his feet up or getting a bit of breathing space.

“We’ll try to have him ready for the really intense games where his experience and quality are valuable.”

Over the years, Brown often got better the longer the season went on and Lennon said: “I think there are a lot of players like that. Christopher Jullien could be in that bracket too. I was a bit like that myself.

“It took me until the start of September to find my best form. Scott’s not alone with that.”

I know Broony hasn't been great but the criticism has maybe been a wee bit OTT.

He's still super fit for a player of his age, but the system needs to be right for him to thrive.

In my opinion, he needs players close to him to reduce the distances he has to pass, and the distances he has to cover to pick up loose balls. Having McGregor and Ntcham either side will suit him perfectly.
In that midfield three, Ntcham and McGregor should be the ones taking the ball, and Brown should be the one staying pretty close behind them to offer a passing option if there's no forward option, and to sweep up any second balls if play breaks up.

There will be tough games where we need an extra body in midfield, and there will be games where we could probably let him sit out and introduce a more forward-thinking player. Yesterday, for example, I'd argue we could have started with Elyounoussi and gone for more of a 3-4-3, or we could have maybe sat McGregor in the deeper role and introduced Turnbull.

I'd still like to se Broonie play most games but only the last 20-30mins of them. To come on and keep the midfield strong to see games off.
I think if he's rested for more than one game at his age it will affect his fitness and sharpness, so really he should be the one coming on in the 2nd half instead of the likes of Turnbull etc.
His presence around the team should be there for all games.

Maybe this has been what's happening already and isn't working, we can't form a team around a 35 year old.

That's not what I'm saying, but you're right. Ideally the team this season should be built around McGregor, Ntcham and Edouard. McGregor and Ntcham can control games and if Odsonne has the freedom to pick up awkward positions and can get the ball into feet things will happen.

    Encouraging, Lenny has stated this..

He can still play his part, but what I think we’ll see happen, is our play will become so much more dynamic without him.

It may be that it will become more and more difficult to play him rather than leave him out..

Glad to hear Lennon recognise he can’t play every game.

He has been needing rotated for about 3 years now, if people in charge are just realising that’s scary.
