Decent listen, cheers for everything, I like hearing anyone tell Celtic stories. Fond memories.

Sounds like he has been at Arsenal for years and loves them all there and it's * great and the training and standard is just so much better than Celtic and it's * great and Luiz is the soundest guy ever and everyone is unbelievable.

Cool mate. Enjoy domestic football

No ill-will against him but aye I do find the regular need to talk about us a little strange. He's moved on and so have we.

There's no need to be scared of returning to Parkhead, as long as you're paying for your ticket like the rest of us..

Off topic but does anyone know how to get paint off your hands?

Folk spray painting his parents gaff and issuing him threats are simply arseholes before they are any sort of Celtic fan.

However, the ‘backlash’ in terms of large groups of fans (understandably hurting) now wishing he’d just move on is entirely normal and to be expected and he knows that fine we’ll himself as he is a Celtic fan.

The hypothetical argument about ‘what would you do?’ from the angle of ‘aye you’d do the same ya lieing * for more dough’ doesn’t entirely stack up. He’s not the only guy in the world to have options to leave Celtic for more money, bigger leagues and arguably bigger clubs and taken the opposite path.

Henrik Larsson was chased by SAF for years whilst Man Utd were arguably the biggest club in world football and he turned them down. A foreigner who didn’t have Pearson’s strip on his wall or Bobo Balde as his screen saver. A fact. Paul McStay another one, chased by the biggest clubs across Europe and refused to go. It’s not as black and white as some would have you believe.

Why do you find it strange?

Was Larsson not on something like £50k a week with us? In 2001? That's a * of a lot of money for then.

Not saying he wouldnt have stayed were he not on that but its hypothetical now I suppose. But he wasnt exactly on buttons here and we were a lot more competitive back then.

It's hard to compare. Paul McStay is a better example I'd say, granted.

Just my opinion but it all feels a little false given the juncture in our history that he chose to opt out of.

Man United would have paid him as much if not more than we did. So then it’s the argument about quality of league and size of club.

Henrik chose immortality with Celtic fans over the chance to play for arguably the biggest club in world football at the time. KT threw away immortality to play with a side that can’t even consider itself top 4 at this point.

Like I said before though, I wish him well and hope he’s back at Celtic before his career is over. Said exact same about McGeady when he went.

He chose to leave then he's running about the emirates with Celtic stitched on his boots when he could still have been wearing a celtic jersey.

I hold no ill will towards him but he really shouldn't have given all the one club man patter then bolt on the cusp of history

    Fair.

I find it hard to comment tbh. As I say we know absolutely nothing of what was going on in the background or the circumstances which led to his transfer.

He could have demanded a move for all we know or there may have been other factors.

I dont not believe for a second he isnt as big a fan as he makes out. If he wants to still talk about us it doesnt annoy me one bit but that's just me.

A career in football is far too short. If we could financially secure the next two generations of our families for their entire lives for just under 20 years of a working life, I think anyone with any sort of brain would jump at the chance regardless of loyalty.

I was admittedly bitter when he left at the time because of the way he acted with the fans and he made us believe he was here for the 10 but a further thought suggested actually he acted in the best interests of the club. 25m in our coffers for a player that cost nothing is massive considering the lack of CL footy for the last few years. Its clear he gave everything for us and thats all we as fans can expect. He definately has my well wishes and I hope he gets over his fear of coming home to CP and gets to see his bhoyhood club lift the 10.

Just because two players turned down clubs to stay with us doesn’t make Tierney wrong or any less of a “Celtic man” for leaving.

Everyone has their motives for decisions in their career. Everyone has different ambitions.

Wanting to cement yourself at Celtic is as admirable for me as wanting to challenge yourself at the top level.

When you’re moving to Norwich or that, aye, I don’t understand that. Each to their own. But when you get the chance to go right to the top, which Arsenal are despite their recent struggles, I can’t blame him.

I actually don't think the "scared" comment was 100% a joke. That whole section about leaving he was messing his words. A chance to really explain the situation and we're no clearer as to what happened from his side. Then trying to pass it off as "I got Celtic 25mil so that was good." I reckon he is brickin it to come back up.

The opportunity may have never come again. Especially with the injury and Hayes telling him folk have had to retire with it.

I don't have a problem with him accepting the transfer, the club accepted the offer so it's his right but I don't believe it was the "hardest decision in his life".

He sat tight-lipped for 2 months of the transfer window when everyone and their Granny knew Arsenal were going to bid and he didn't say anything to dissuade the interest..

I've no doubts he was a big Celtic fan growing up but the diehard persona of sitting in with the fans instead of corporate at away games, Celtic posters up on the the wall, Bobo Balde, megaphones etc. all seem a little empty in retrospect when you jump at the first EPL bid that arrives, when we are on the cusp of unprecedented history.

Correct. The opportunity to lift 10 in a row at Celtic may never come again.

    No.

    Mr. Celtic.

I have never begrudged him his move to Arsenal.

    It is exactly like that.

Neither of them came out with birthday-caird pish about hoping to end their careers at Celtic.

    What are you begrudging then?

    I don’t get it.

A thought he was a good left back for the club a love but personally I don’t know him myself to have any feelings for him as a person
