With Lennon looking @ substantial suspension and Thompson out for a few games I am looking forward to seeing a new look midfield. Whilst both may have their qualities pace, movement and attack flairing would not be amongst them. With the number of attacking options we previously had on the bench (Mc Geady/Maloney/Beattie/Alliadierre etc..) we could transform our team over the next few weeks with introduction of qualities that the other 2 guys don't have. I think Dunfermiline + ICT are in for a right doing.

whoever goes into them posistions will know that there taking up a regular spot i think lennon played 49 consective games that should encourage who ever fills their boots tp play that bit better.

Might be a blessing in disguise might be a disaster time will tell.

I like yer optimism m8, no doubt it's a chance to try something different hope we see some of the youngsters given their chance to impress. Any signs of Pearson? he'd do for me at Left-Mid.

i think that the board really should give Strachan some money for a quality midfielder because at the moment i just dont think Strachan is getting the balance of the team right.

A midfield of Thompson, Petrov, Nakamura and Pearson would do me fine.

Well bhoys what do u think off this Midfield-
    Stan Petrov- Middle-19
    Shaun Maloney
    Shunsuke Nakamura :notworthy
    Stephen Pearson(if fit)
    or Zurawski
Ithink thats not a bad midfield bhoys 2 me:celtman2: petrov better in the middle, give Naka the freedom too run around the pitch making great passing+his movement will be first class(i hope) Maloney what can we say,too me that young man has the lot(thank-* he turned down Aberdeen+Livi) Now he should be in the team right now bhoys he looks so sharp+touch if pearo is fit he could be the new :fear:lennon he has got the bottle remember at the Nou-camp bhoys and i think that was his 3rd game 4 us then put BBJ+ALIADERE up-front what do u think bhoys QUOTE ME?

Exactly, bit of a waste of a loan deal! I too would love to see Pearon back, I think he is quality. Agathe, Nakamura, Petrov and Pearson for me. As long as Maloney starts up front. What more does he have to do (sorry, went off on a bit of a tangent there).

    Agathes injured though...

Maloney isn't really going to get you goals, I think he'd do a good job as an attacking midfielder. Normaly very lively and creative, maybe worth a shout.

telfer will move into midfield with virgo coming in at right back, which means we're stuck with bobo at centre half again. pearson is apparently back in training so hopefully he'll get thommo's place

agree with daschoo, telfer will play midfield with virgo going to right back. can't believe all this support for pearson. imo hes a dud, never looked the part. would rather have wallace playing on the left.

Pearson was one of (if not our only) best player against Barca and was "above-average" (sometimes he did great, others not so much) all season (when he played). If he gets a fair run this year he should turn some heads.

    I reckon you've got that spot on.:50:

My take on the Pearson/Wallace debate is that Wallace is the dud and Pearson is the one to go with.

Bit of a redundant argument anyway as i dont think he'll pick either of them on a regular basis.

assuming nakamura sticks with his free role that he seems to be being given the other three midfielders will be a naturally narrower unit. think this rules out wallace as he's an out and out winger in my opinion

    McGeady--Petrov--Nakamura--Pearson.

I would give this a go or even move Camara up on the left and go 3 at the back with Telfer--Virgo--McManus.
I have a feeling that we may have seen the last of Alliadiere.
