I wasn't misquoting you or attacking you as you seem to believe. Excitement comes in different forms and I think the person who said came as more of an excited for the future and the surprise in it.

I didn’t think you were attacking me, might come over like that but wasn’t meant to.

I must have missed where he said
“more for the future & surprise in it.”

I just took it he meant what he said. Especially when he said:-
“It’s been a long time since most of them have burst onto the scene.”

So I pointed out some were last year & some the year before etc. There are two Dembele’s btw. Both were / are worthy of being classed as exciting.

It's not too late. I think squads for the last 32 need to be registered in January.

IN only his sixth appearance for Celtic, Jeremie Frimpong produced another Man of the Match performance to help the Hoops beat Livingston 4-0 at Paradise.

The display by the 18-year-old Dutch defender drew praise from his manager, who said after the game: “He’s made us better, there’s no question of that.

“I have to say that performance, in isolation, is one of the best I’ve seen from a right-back at Celtic. It had everything – pace, power, assists, shots on goal, recovery runs, defending well. For a kid of 18 to come into a daunting environment like this, he’s handling it brilliantly but his talent is unequivocal.

“He’s got great upper-body strength, in tight areas he’s amazing on the ball, and he’s been a real find. We obviously don’t want to shower him with too much too early because we’ve got a long season ahead of us, but he’s contributing immensely at the minute.”

Frimpong came to Celtic’s attention after Neil Lennon and his coaching staff watched him play a development game for Manchester City against Celtic, and while it was a real team effort to bring him to the club, the Hoops boss said that the teenager deserves praise for his progress.

“We thought he would be a very good, emerging talent, but he’s just meteorically come through and it’s down to him really,” he said.

“He’s obviously not registered for Thursday so Moritz Bauer will come into our thinking for that one, with Hatem out as well, but there’s no question that if you look at the results we’ve had with Jeremie in the team, and Tom Rogic too, the volume we’ve scored has been unbelievable. That’s not just down to those two, but they’ve made telling contributions since they’ve come in.”

Thankfully not or we’d have got nothing for Van Dijk moving to Liverpool and would likely be getting nothing for Dembele when he leaves Lyon.

We got Frimpong on the cheap because we agreed to the higher sell on clause.

I see folk mentioning VVD, Dembele, Eddy etc and I get where people are coming from. They are indeed talented players but Frimpong has that something special about him that you can't easily articulate but you just know. He has the X factor and it's frightening when you think about how good he could become.

If we've got any sense we will never sell him :56:We stand to make more qualifying for big tournaments every year and are better maximizing how much we can gain from keeping him rather than taking a 30% hit on selling him.

He's the best right back of the three, and should be starting every game.

Would like to see us go three at the back with Frimpong and Bolingoli used a wing backs. Means we could rest Forrest as well. Elhamed and Frimpong both need to be getting games.

I’m just glad we’re all collectively taking it easy and not putting too much pressure on the young lad :fear:
