than Dougal, Lennon, or Thompson, and while all these were part of a forgettable day I have to ask the question - would it have happened under MON? I think there have been rumblings that all is not well in the dressing room. Surely the appointment of Lennon as Captain was a decision not based on footballing skills as much as on an, albeit misplaced, emotional appeal that Lennon has with the fan base. A real football based decision would surely have put Petrov in the armband. I don't see any evidence of leadership in Lennon, oh don't get me wrong, he will fight his corner and in many cases he is the subject of extreme provocation and perhaps none more so than at that refereeing performance today. Thommo has been out of sorts for a while and I have to wonder what is the next step for him - maybe a change of scenery. I worry that the Polish or Japanese mind set will not fully understand what happened today and I doubt that GS has the skills to hold this all together. :87:

I dont see that much of a problem, before the sending off we where really starting to control the game and would have won it.

    Aye.

Everyone seems to think MON is a priceless and unblameable messiah.

Sure, he delivered us trophies, wins against those * frequently, and some recognition in Europe.

But in his final season, he was just absolutely not interested in being the manager of our proud club. He showed less enthusiasm as previous seasons. And quite rightfully, he stepped down with the condition of his wife, which was very unfortunate.

Back onto business matters though - he failed to leave us with a squad for the future. He rarely played any of the young lads and often persevered with his Loyal troops, the same tactic that he played at Leicester......and look where they've ended up.

So aye, bottom line - this would've no doubt happened today. Was on the cards for a while

Get off Camara's case, he was our best player. It was our overrated hasbeens who let us down today and have been doing so for the past 8 months (before any of the new signings arrived). New signings should have been coming in to replace them. Unfortuneatley the stalwarts poor form has continued when it matters most with the new players taking the brunt of the critisism.

It did sort of happen at Ibrox when Sutton and Thompson got sent off, was a shambles at that match.

It's a fair point Lenny1. The 'old guard' lost the league last year and probably the game (with the assistance of Rangers' 12th man). Apart from the 1st goal (which was cracker), Telfer played exceptionally well; Camera our best peformer - simple as that. I wouldn't place much weight on anything BB has to say either, he's drunk most of the time, and he likes to hear himself talk (mostly Anglo-Saxon dribling lager-lout * BTW) :86:

You'll have to wait. He's probably lying in a heap somewhere - face down in a Toby Jug or Toilet Bowl (that's where he gets all his best material)

He'll surface alright, probably hold off 'till he's hammered again before posting.

Can't wait for the next pearls of wisdon or command from our very own Lager swilling oracle :86:

I don't think Agathe will solve any problems, he's finished IMO - no pace anymore - was fantastic in his prime. Buying Telfer at 33? is a very short term buy and probably a stop gap. The jury is of course still out on CameLa :86:

Don't agree. Agathe lost his way a long time ago. I cannot believe he would have played any better yeterday, but could see him play much worse. I think Telfer looks physicaly stronger, is hungrier, and after yesterday, he's worth the position - at least for a while :87:

Nope, MON did not leave us with a good team - he left us with a tired and expensive team. GS just made it worse - on the evidence so far. :87:

If we are to dig deeper, we better not stop at personal level. The same buch of players can play completely differently under the guidance of different coaches.

I am not going into MON vs. GS discussion, but the problems are:

    1) What kind of style are we going to adpot to bring the best from the current squad?
    2) How can we use the skills of newly bought players to improve our gameplay?
    3) Do we expect immediate success in every field that left, or are we in process of rebuilding the team, with a possibility of another (nearly) lost season?

The rest is at this moment just a crap talk born out of frustration.
To make it clear, I share the frustration, but I'd like to discuss something more constructive.

    1) Finesse
    2) Play the way GS wants to play: Finesse. This will get the best out of the players since he bought them for that system.
    3) Long term

    There's my 2p

the fact is that under o'neill we were tuned into believing the gulf between ourselves and the orcs was greater than what it really was. i maintain that the only significant edge we had over them was psychological and not ability-based. im not particularly worried about the result at this stage, we played the better stuff until thommos stupidity, and coped up until HT. camara impressed me, petrov played his best game in about a year and before the sending off, our defence actually looked more solid than rangers'. i was at the game and, with seeing more of the pitch than on tv, we had a good shape about us, and we penetrated rangers through the middle-something i havent seen in a long time.

i cannot reiterate the fact any more that gelling together takes time and im sure that the november result will be a better gauge of just where this team is going. im a little bit worried that beattie may be a carbon copy of solskjaer. zurawski looked good when he came on and GS should keep faith in him to start. we have to take it on the chin, decisions didnt go our way and we had a major handicap from the 23rd min. the blame game has to end, the guys just need to keep getting results against the "weaker" teams.
