How is it not a possibility? he doesnt get on their bench and as of now is due nearly £14million off them over the next 4 years. Nobody is going to match his wages most likely so either they compromise and pay him off or he sits there being loaned out.

There will be no price agreement, especially with us because he will not come here on 40% of his wages unless Southampton hand him a lump sum to get rid of him.

If he is quality and another English team actually does want him and will pay his wages then price agreement or not there is 0% chance of him coming here.

yep, no doubt about it, he could be. :)

Just thinking, if it was left to some of our fans to decide how much money to spend and where to spend it positionally.
We'd end up like these monkeys huns...
No money in the bank, no funds to strengthen yet further in the coming windows and fundamentally, just a poorly run club.

I already explained why I don't think it is a possibility in the previous post.

Mate, the guy has had his fair share of deserved criticism.

Folk should man the * up and give him praise where and when it's due, despite how unfashionable it may be...

Found this thread 5 pages back, Peter must be doing something right.

Anyway, good end to the transfer window and a good set of accounts announced yesterday. Credit where credits due.

    Is Lawwell perfect no.
But if you remember the 80s and 90s before Fergus you'll know this guy is doing a good job.
We are keeping the success going over a long period of time and running the business side of things well with a strong academy for the future. Night and day from the 'old days ' .

Still think our penny pinching over years has cost us countless millions.

You even look at the likes of Mccarthy and McGinn who could have brought in huge money with smallish outlay.

The counter argument to that is that we've also signed lots of players that have made us countless millions.

Hindsights a great thing and every team in world football would be able to look back and say if only we had of signed him look how well he's doing.

We had shay given and Andy Robertson as youngsters (no doubt there's lots more) and released them. Bad decisions but that's football.

I agree there but it was widely mentioned that Mccarthy deal was kod by PL because he fancies Ki. Whilst Ki was a good player he didn't generate the money he was expecting, and Mccarthy went on to be a very very good PL player.

Also with McGinn whilst it can't be confirmed it was mentioned that PL felt we were paying way too much for McGinn.

Even from a fans view both players looked well good enough to develop at Celtic and make us better.

Personally I feel we'd rather take a chance on a foreigner who can make us money rather than someone who can actually help the team.

I’ve been critical of Lawwell at times and been delighted with him at other times.

The reality is, it’s all a bit pointless. When we have a successful team on the park he’s a shrewd negotiator, long term strategist and we’re lucky to have him. Conversely, when we’re not performing, he’s an expensive burden that let us down. I’m no different in the sense that my views on him swing quite wildly, as do almost everyone’s else’s here.

We’ll only be able to able to judge him properly when he’s finished here imo. There will be some positives and some negatives, but on the balance of things I think he’s time here will be looked back on as a successful period, and he will have been a significant part of that.

We all know King is a crook so how the * is he allowed near a football club do the SHA SPFL have a fit and proper test in place ?ie anybody with an unspent criminal conviction involving dishonest cannot be deemed fit and proper : King was found guilty of 41 counts of contravening section 75 of the Income Tax Act 58 of 1962, in South Africa. In fact he pled guilty to the charges and in return was given the choice of paying a fine of around £200,000 or spend two years in jail. As part of the settlement he has to pay around £45 million in tax, and file all missing tax returns – which Dave King has admitted in an interview with a South African broadcaster – stretches all the way back to 2002.

There are no bones about it Dave King is a criminal, the South African High Court convicted him of his crimes and sentenced the accused in ‘accordance with the sentence agreement’........so how the * is he allowed to be involved with a football club..answer cos its * Rangers and Scottish football supposedly need a * Rangers thats why.......

When things aren't going 100% our way and some people instantly use that to start shouting to sack lawwell, I always wonder what they think is going to happen next after he's gone and somebody else comes in to replace him? It's doubtful much of anything would really change in the way we operate, it'll just be a different guy doing the same job.
