To us, £2m is actually the average value of a signing. So, naturally we want that "pocket change" as well. They are the ones buying our player, so...

It's nowhere near enough but if we've set the price at that how can it be.

15m first offer....that was a * insult. They should have been told to * off for good there and then for their insolence.

And this record sale talk, great money for a homegrown talent....does anyone really buy into that *. Really!!

Ps- wrong thread:fear: but as close * it.

I've said from the start that even if we were open to selling why should we openly say it.

Hes our most valuable asset so we should be saying not for sale from the start and see how high clubs are willing to go. * this "everyone has a price" nonsense.

    Not in modern football.

It could work in terms of raising the fee, but if a club were to sell after making a statement like that, then the fans would instantly pounce and could produce quite negative results. Catch 22 situation.

I think we could win the league comfortably without Tierney. I don't think we could without McGregor. He's our most valuable asset in my opinion. Best player in the league by an absolute mile.

I agree we should be saying none of our players are for sale. This is where Lennon * me off. Publicly slags off Ntcham for his *, Lennon says we aren't a stepping stone for anyone. Then on the Tierney front says every player has his price. What is it? Make up your * mind.

I'd rather we say that and then sell for more if we were planning on it all along. Would definitely soften the blow.

Rather than settle for a fee openly. Especially when you see far poorer players going for near enough the same.

For me it's not a good deal.

In terms of to the team I'd be inclined to agree.

But Tierney would always go for a bigger fee than McGregor. His position is hard to find quality in. Regardless of how good McGregor is.

Aye maybe in terms of fee mate, you're both right. I just think out of the whole squad there is only one player who could walk into any team in the uk and that is McGregor

It might have nothing to do with money. If he does want to go to the EPL maybe it is so he is playing somewhere he isn't getting physically assaulted week in week out. He's already suffering, he might be thinking what will 2 more years of that do to him.

Thing is, KT should be thinking along the lines of how much do they actually really want him.

    Lowball...stall...lowball stall...addon stall...penny pinching stall.

Wanted him badly enough it would have been done a long time ago....wouldn't exactly fill me with confidence if I was him.

Does any player analyse it that much? I don’t think so ... it’s about bottom line factors ...

Does he want to go ?
Does he see it as advancement ?
    Is the dosh better ?

(Maybe more important is how much he feels Celtic want him to stay)

It’s a bit like the numerous fans who can’t understand him maybe not staying for the ten ....

He’s a fan like all of us and while it might be good to be part of it .. it’s maybe not essential to him. As a fan he will still hope it happens wherever he is and enjoy it like the rest of us if/when it does.

It’s the old story about football business being like no other business. Emotions at all levels can cloud common sense views , common sense opinions and common sense decisions.

I really hope he stays ... but stays and is fit to be part of these next 2 seasons.

NEIL LENNON says Kieran Tierney can’t kick a ball without feeling pain.

The Celtic ace is recovering from a double hernia operation he underwent at the end of last season

And Lennon says he is still in discomfort as he revealed the ongoing Arsenal speculation is ‘frustrating’ for the 22-year-old.

“Kieran started kicking a ball on Wednesday, but he’s still feeling some discomfort there.

We’ll see how it is when things settle down because it’s a very unsettling time for him at the minute.

“The injury has compounded that frustration because he’s not 100 per cent right.

I’ve been in his position so I have a lot of sympathy for him, when maybe a lot of people wouldn’t.

“But I know what’s it’s like to have to keep adjusting your mindset if things do go as expected.

This is where this generation are at a disadvantage because it comes at them from all angles, with social media and people surmising or giving opinions, making up rumours.

“It’s not just the media, it’s every angle — but Kieran’s got a good stable home life to keep him in check.

“I make sure I know how he’s doing and we’re supportive of him whatever happens.

Nothing has changed yet. It’s not speaking from insider knowledge, but in my experience another bid will come in.

I’d be surprised if it didn’t. I’d also be delighted if if didn’t, but the good things is we will know either way by the end of the week when the window shuts down there.

It’s not our problem, but the next few days might be spent sitting by the phone.

“Kieran is still feeling pain. He was out kicking a ball on Wednesday and just felt a lot of discomfort. I don’t know how far away he is.”

He looked fine to me last Sunday at Keir Hardie kicking the ball about whilst watching his local team play.

Probably would have been a little bit discomfort still.
