I think the Ref could have gone for a yellow, but FFS, Thomo made it look bad, tacklin like a schoolboy and you have to expect the outcome could go either way.

    Aye,

Remember - That's 3 times Thompson's let himself, and us, down at Ibrox.

I really don't see what Thompson has left to offer Celtic , we've had the best we're gonna get from him, time for Coca Cola Championship I think.

I am not slagging him off though. He's a Celt. He'll always be applauded by me when he's on the park.

I thought he was unlucky getting sent off in 2000 at Ibrox when Bazza the Superstar fell on his *. Second time, although Lovendive acted like a wee kid, he didnae need to use the headbutt action.

Today - it's a rash tackle, we've all seen them made. Sadly, the ref was right against any warnings and was bang on the cards today.

and you think Thompson don't know Ref's are waitin for the slightest chance to book the blood'n'guts players???? I think he does which makes his schoolboy tackle even worse.

In a word - Yes. Thompson is more experienced and knows better to put in wild tackles like that. * disgrace. He should be dropped from the team.

After watching replays, it's not the horror tackle it first appeared, but the Ref can't watch replays, and from his angle all he saw was Thommo steaming in like a man possessed. Absolute stupidity from an experienced player, tackles like that are always magnified in an Old Firm game, and he should have learnt after his red card last time.
I was embarrassed by Lovenkrands last time, but again Thommo led with his head, what did he expect. I've said it already, Thommo should be a squad player, not a first team regular. Another blot on Thommo's conduct, its a shame to see him grabbing the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
To be honest, if it was the other way around, I would have been looking for a red card, although we probably wouldn't have got it.
Expect to see Thommo warming the bench for a lengthy period.
Very dissapointed in Lennon too, no way for the captain to behave, plus we don't have cover for his position.
Just glad nobody is blaming Strachan.

It was a bookable offence, no more no less. We played well when done to 10 men, Camara ha his best game for us and Stan was brilliant today.

y give him a red card, it was a stupid tackel but his studds were down, not up, and he caught him in the middle of his legs, it was just stupidly timed, thommo better learn from this, thats 2 old firm games he's been wrongly sent off in. anyways if Dugall thought thommo's challenge really was a red, thats it, thommo's gone, but can someone explaing the difference between his challenge and Murrays a few minutes later, all i can c is one is a rangers player, therefore he cant b sent off,?? the ref was crap with his cards and a mon avis acted 2 fast, as craig burley said, "football is a contact sport, wat does the ref expect, obviously some players will mistime challenges and take time 2 settle in 2 the game, + its the old firm" spot on craig, no red..

Old Firm games are the most aggressive and brutal games in world football.

the * thing is, he didnt even injure that *. i think it wasnt really a red card. if he gives red, he should have sent off at least rodrifguez or murray as well.
