Spot on mate, you go onto the page looking for a new signing and you tell you “ major upset, Brendan Rodgers is still in the Celtic monopoly game “, fs devastated, it’s them that seem to be going on about Tierney aswell

His post certainly reads as meaning players with a reputation/big name. A player like Wanyama (playing for a team like Germinal Beerschot) is always going to sign for Celtic - regardless of our manager's sway.

However, players with a reputation like your Sinclair's, Toure's etc would more than likely need to be tempted by the manager as well.

If that's what straighttalker means then I completely agree with him. Lennon was unable to convince Jimmy Bullard, David James and Sol Campbell to join, whereas Rodgers signed Toure (off the back of a Europa League final) and Sinclair.

Calibre pertains to quality or ability though, not profile.

We've had plenty of high profile players over the years - most of which turn out * - from Wright to the Keanes to Juninho to Ljungberg to Toure. If his point was that we can't attract ageing former stars then I don't see that as a great loss.

His spotting a good player ratio is shocking
Commper, Henry, koussai, Benyu, gamboa de vries, musonda,
Even guys like Hayes , Morgan not did anything of note

Actually looking forward to the Ukrainian bhoy due to the fact the snake didn’t sign him

    Exactly this mate.

People talk about the money the club has made under Lawells tenure, but I would be very interested to see some figure in terms of our profit/revenue in his time here vs the total potential revenue that could have been achieved.

Sometimes I actually cant get my head around why some situations have been allowed to happen, one big one for me being the handling of the Boyata situation and losing out on £8-12m. At any other business there would be a serious inquest as to how that was allowed to happen, but not with us.

The Deila appointment and steady regression to getting beat by sevco in the cup semi..

Dembele leaving on the last day of the transfer window, forcing his way out the door and having no other striker targets identified for that eventuality.

The signing of Marvin Comperr and giving such a chunk of our wage budget to a player who to date has only played less than 90 mins vs Morton.

In fact there are so many separate situations that I think have been managed in such an * fashion and that we have failed to capitalise from positions of strength.

Even at this very moment, to have lost so many players from the squad and have only made a concrete bid for Turnbull who at present appears to be our main transfer target. What the actual * is going on man.

Iv always felt that if 10 in a row didnt happen, it wouldnt be our competition, but the main factor would be ourselves. And from being so far ahead of the competition only a few years ago with such a strong squad, I still dont think any differently.

We have had the £4m disco lights, heard talk of a Celtic Hotel, now talk of a new training complex. Are we taking our eye off the ball a bit here?

Its gross mismanagement from a high level and i really feel that the buck stops with Lawell.

Didn't get on with this *. Neither did Lennon by the end first time round. He never backed Deila. Strachan openly referred to our transfer model as "the biscuit tin". Players, managers and agents now openly sick of dealing with the *.

Maybe the recurring problem is Lawwell and not everyone else.

Hope Lawell * off, he's out stayed his welcome imo. Too much power, too focused on bank balances and off field projects such as hotels etc.

Agree, and it isn't healthy for us as a club.

How long does CEOs normally stay? 4 or 5 years? He's been here since Strachan if I'm right. Far too long he's became power crazy. I'd get him out the door.

2003 you mean then, that's even worse. He's turned into Kim Jong un, starting to look like him as well.

Which makes me worry more so for this window and the next season or two, that Lennon willingly came back.

I think I am right, but most CEO's in any business only last 4-5 years really, then move on to other companies and/or industry. It tends to be advisable to ensure companies stay fresh, move forward, etc etc etc.... 14 years the * has been here, well over due being shifted on. Massively

    Lawell is the common denominator.

The guy earns a 700k bonus on top of his basic wage and this is where we are.

Controlling narrative, being a dictator, failing in trade deals. The similarities are endless.
