Neil Lennon is lining up a Celtic reunion with long time right-hand man Garry Parker.

Record Sport understands Lennon has been keen to beef up his backroom team ever since he agreed to return to the club as caretaker boss following the departure of Brendan Rodgers.

Lennon steered the champions to an eighth successive title and a Scottish Cup win to seal the treble Treble alongside coaches John Kennedy and Damien Duff.

But he is still hopeful of bringing his own man on board now he has been offered the role on a permanent basis.

Parker has been out of work since he and Lennon left Hibs under a cloud of controversy in January this year.

But the Englishman is believed to be excited at the prospect of a return to Parkhead nine years after first being appointed by Lennon.

Aye the whole way the announcement was done on Saturday is pretty mad almost as if Lawwell was absolutely * and just called a press conference in the heat of the moment should've waited till everything was signed and just announce he was the new manager.

He knew a large section of the support wanted a big name, he knew if he slipped it out just at the treble treble point hoping everyones too busy celebrating to have a moan.

Agreed, absolutely * way to run a club and also presumptuous on his part that Lennon would just accept it without reservation.

The professional way to do it would've been as you say: let the dust settle from the Treble Treble celebrations, bring him into the office to formally offer him the role then presumably Lennon could negotiate his wage and transfer budget demands. If he then accepts the job and terms you publicly announce it.

This sitting in limbo while pictures of him on holiday with that wee smarmy cocktail sausage get uploaded onto Twitter is bizarre.

Admittedly I'm not too fond of Commons any more myself but why is it that everyone seems to strongly dislike him these days? Was there a particular incident?

It’s more about his recent conversion to the ‘Andy Walker School of Media Principles’ and his cozyness with new mate Kris Boyd.

Celtic are fair game even when you’ve made a handsome living out of them.

Said almost this word for word to my mate today. Lack of professionalism.

Celtic website’s only story is still the “offer” and “over the next few days, we will work out the details”

    ....Thursday the morra

Lawwell and Lennon jetted away before the details could be ironed out.

He’s our new Manager, it just won’t be ‘official’ until he’s signed a piece of paper.

Don’t agree with the professionalism thing with regards to Lenny’s job offer, what really lacked professionalism was the fact that any Manager applying or showing interest had their CV shoved in a filing cabinet without a 2nd glance.
