Probably won't happen but if he's gonna be the main man then I want him to bring in and have full control of who comes in/assists him..

More chance of being a success than just putting him in with a trio and expecting it to gel..

Full control. Lol. Who am I kidding..

No you said Edouard isn’t a striker.

Yet he just won us the treble treble.

He also scored goals in the league that were very important.

And I am more than delighted with that! My comments aren't based just on today. I think he should be doing it more often. He wasalso a huge part of the problem in the first half though,he offered nothing. Not that he was alone in that!

Disappointed but as others have said, both the fans need to back him (a given) but the board do too.

Although I’m happy in the knowledge that Lenny lifting 10iar will send jimmy bell to an early grave

Totally underwhelmed with that call. Meh. However, putting my devils advocate hat on..we were a) definitely on the slide this season before el rato bogged off and b) Lennon did get Hibs playing some great football for two seasons before half his team were sold off. Having said that... totally underwhelmed.

Desmond? Ffs, Keyser Soze will be getting the blame soon :56:

DD is keeping us honest, a billionaire who could easily * up our financial strategy that has got us where we are in the first place. He was a huge influence on signing Rodgers who, even though dishonest about his love of the club, created the Invincibles and the first two Trebles.

Desmond without a doubt has the best interests of Celtic at heart. If he started losing the plot blinded by 10iar I would be more concerned.

I'm no huge fan of the board btw but I'm even less a fan of the clubs who use billionaires to turn their teams into * beauty pageants with no soul and when the party's over will sure as fate * off into the sunset on their yachts.

I know. I am still saying it. Maybe there is some new hipster phrase for what he is and people consider it being a striker, but I don't think a striker is someone who drifts out of the box as the ball is going on!

I am fully aware he scores goals, if he started to learn how to play as a striker, and he should be at least improving in this regard, he would score more.
I am also not disputing the importance of his goals. He is capable of more but he seems to only want to play his way.

Aye, I was ready for posting a spoiled bratty comment about how 9m should get us more than what he was giving, among other things. Kid has obvious talent and is young enough to learn and become even better, we have LG and Bayo still to come in as well striker wise and Lennon has already said that area was a priority so sure we will be all good.

Needs to have full control, the gig needs to be his 100% picking his own backroom team, etc otherwise it's not fair.

Think some perspective is needed. I was in favour of Lennon getting the job on a permanent basis up until the Rangers game when my opinion did shift slightly. It probably shouldn’t have based on one game, but we were that bad. Since then it’s very much been a case of assess all of our options and pick the best man for the job. I never felt as though the likes of Benitez were realistic options.

Regarding timing - I don’t think the board could’ve done much else. Had they appointed someone else with Lennon staying in charge until the end of the season, it would’ve undermined him with so much to play for. If they had appointed him, it could still have all gone wrong up until today. I don’t mind the timing aspect at all, and would actually argue that waiting until after today was probably the most prudent approach. Would anyone complaining about timing be saying the same thing if Benitez had been announced today?

Lennon himself.....things haven’t been great on the pitch but they haven’t been terrible either. We’ve achieved what we wanted to, and the team is now running on fumes. He does bring a few positive particularly in terms of transfers - he has a great eye for a player and has had time to assess what’s needed. I just hope the board back him on that front.

Can’t be arsed being all doom and gloom about it - I’ll hold of until the inevitable summer transfer window disappointment for that. It’s a bank holiday weekend, we’ve just done a treble treble, we’ve got a number of talented young players in the side, we’re on the cusp of history again, and the prospect of Lennon and Brown lifting the 10.....delightful.

I think we would’ve all liked to see a Benitez, Mourinho or AVB etc....but looking at them as objectively as possible, they were never likely to have much genuine interest, all things considered.

Considering we’ve won the last 9 domestic trophies, it’s hard to get excited about a guy who only won 2 out of a possible 9 domestic cups the last time he was here. The 12-13 season aside, we were * in Europe too.

Pure spoiled here, but I'm dreading the prospect of every game being a scrappy 2-1 where we only play for half an hour but obviously you'll take it.
Interested to see who he brings in and who he wants to punt given all the chat about it not being HIS team.

    Sinclair will be gone.
    Compper will be gone.
None of the loan players will be back excluding Benkovic possibly.
    Gordon will be gone.

Ntcham and possibly Rogic to go too tbh

Everyone is grateful for Lennon coming in and helping us out but some people aren’t inspired by it, rightly so, due to how we’ve performed and how we’ve struggled to break teams down.

I didn’t want Lennon and I don’t watch the EPL.

I, like many in here, based my opinion on how we performed under Lennon as a whole. I judged him on how he set us up, his lack of in-game changes, his poor substitutions and his tactical tweaks that saw us start crossing the ball 25/30 times a game to a striker who very rarely scores with his head.

Sorry for caring about Celtic Football Club more than Neil Lennon’s feelings.
