Lol. I can imagine quite a few of the locals being bitter about it to say the least. Most of them probably have never seen a hoops top in their neighborhood before, never mind 1000 or however many will be going lol I hope none of our fans cause any trouble, really doubt it anyway

Yeah, of course they have. Why would we have a problem with it?! It's Loyalist East Belfast we're talking about.

I live in Belfast, work in that area and know a lot of people there. its not as bad as you are suggesting Claire. When do we start to be a bit more confident about who we are and where we can go? I hear that community folks and youngsters are to be invited to the game from all parts of Belfast.....is that not a reasonable jesture. Apparently kids from west and north will be invited to see the players train the day after the game....

Would it not make sense to be playing Cliftonville!
As a supporter of the eircom league and setanta cup, its clear glentoran are not too far off linfield. Same game different ball park. Can see trouble especially if loads of cliftonville(celtic) fans go to the game. Might travel up all the same

I live in the area and I'm quite assured of the fact that it would not be safe for me to wear my Celtic strip around there hence why I don't. True, the majority of people want change and will welcome this but you are always going to get people who will remain bitter and want to cause trouble. They are the ones who will potentially ruin the occasion and it could simply be marred by the trouble caused at it. I welcome the game and look forward to it, but I'm just being realistic, there is quite a chance that trouble may occur.

anyone got any news how to get tickets for this? nothing as yet on the Glens webpage, just a Home match to Hearts on there.

I think we'll be grand going over, although even if i go into Nationalist East Belfast i would still be watching my back lol.

Think we should get a oul TC banner up and running, would be good craic to spot people ooff this n get out for a pint after the matches!

If Celtic do play the Glens, As a Celtic supporter myself who goes over as much as I can and buy their tops, Mag's, programs subscribe to celtic tv etc. etc. every year I think i'll keep my money from now on.

I think this goes beyond just playing a friendly,

If the glen's were to make half a million from this game and were to put the money into kids development, One or two were to make it and went to play in Scotland, and with Lafferty lately refusing to sign for Celtic and then signing for Rangers the chances are the kids that Glentoran are to develop would chose to sign for Rangers too.

Plus with so many Cliftonville/Celtic supporters I think it should be in Celtic's interest to keep their own supporters happy & repay them for their support over the years and not giving a club mainly supported by their biggest rivals money, when a club with Celtic links need the money much much more.

PS. If Ireland can to play at Croke pk, would it be impossible for Celtic to play at casement.
