I don't want a lot of the people linked with us. At this point it has to be someone who plays attacking football or we may aswell stay with Lenny.

Not sure on JM but dont want NL either. Folk are blinded by NL because hes a celtic legend but that does not merit the job imo if he is manager next season expect the league to be very very close

So the fact we’ve won everything going in the last 3 years and 8 league titles and we sit 9 points clear makes you think the league will be close next season? Not to mention the Huns are *

Neil Lennon has admitted his life is on hold as he awaits news on his future at Celtic.

The Parkhead manager is proud to have successfully completed his mission of steering the club to their 50th championship success.

Celtic’s 3-0 win at Aberdeen bagged the flag for an eighth-straight term and gave Lennon his fourth as a boss.

The gaffer can clinch a treble Treble with success over Hearts in the William Hill Scottish Cup Final at the end of the month, but insists he’ll take time with his loved ones first to soak-in the championship triumph.

Lennon also revealed he doesn’t know when definitive talks will take place with club chiefs Dermot Desmond and Peter Lawwell about his long-term future, although he did suggest plans are in place.

He said: “I just want to enjoy this moment and see my family because I haven’t spent much time with them.

“This has been a really tough couple of months for me. My life is on hold, I’ve no future plans in place, no holidays booked.

“It was important I accepted that for what it was. I inherited a totally new team and a style of play that I had to get used to. Not change it because it has been successful.

I’ll take stock of things over the next couple of days, but there are plans in place going forward.

There are going to be changes staff-wise behind the scenes that we obviously need to do.

“But right now I just want to live in the moment. I know I don’t look happy, but I’m ecstatic!”

Lennon knows thoughts of fans have immediately turned to winning titles nine and ten in a row, but says there should be a period of reflection and understanding of the enormity of the team’s current achievements before anyone starts looking ahead.

He added: “For me, I just ignore all of that now.

“I think people lose sight of a lot of things, not just the form this team has shown since the turn of the year

They are on the cusp of a treble treble. At what cost going forward, I don’t know.

“But the expectation level just builds and builds and people need to put a perspective on it at times.

“We’ve had a lot of injuries, a lot of them rehabbing and breaking down again, a lot of players going through the mill for the club. They need a break, there is no question about that.

“Sometimes the performances haven’t been up to the expectation levels, but in the main they’ve been pretty good. That’s eight wins and three draws.

“Will people complain? The expectation level is obviously pretty high, then Rangers went on a bit of a run. But they were playing under no pressure and we know that.

Our boys have been used to playing under pressure every week for years now. You can see the mentality of the team shining through.

“You also have to remember the loss of Brendan would have been huge to the players as well, not just the club or supporters. It was a different voice coming in almost immediately and that takes a bit of adjusting to.”

Lennon, meanwhile, refused to take credit for the title win after Brendan Rodgers laid the platform and said: “No, no. I played a small part. If I was a player and played in 10 games, I’d say I made a contribution.

“This is just the same. I was basically doing my job, what I was entrusted to do.

“I’m grateful to Peter and Dermot for their words privately. We’ve done what we were expected to do. I can’t believe anyone doubted me, really!

“I had a good chat to Dermot on the phone on Saturday morning. He’s still very much involved and I’m sure he will be delighted.”

Just seen this. I'm not convinced Lennon is the man for us but that's an excellent interview. Spoke well and the most relaxed I've seen him in a while. Few little bits of info put across about the state of the club after our last manger left us too.

I wouldn't worry. Padmill talking about having class is about as hypocritical as Brendan Rodgers talking about loyalty.

Lennon has done the job he was brought in to do and has a chance to win a treble. I'm obviously grateful for what he's done, but he's still not the right man for the job going forward.

His fate is going to be decided in the Cup final. He has to get the 3×3 sealed to get the contract.

People who wouldn’t want Mourinho over anyone else :56:

Only downside I would see to him is he doesn’t tend to promote youth players and prefers older more experienced players.
When he managed Chelsea, Inter and Porto his teams scored the most goals and conceded the fewest - hardly a park the bus manager.
People getting caught up in a stereotype made up by his detractors.

I don't think that's the case. I think people are looking at what he has done recently. His record over the last 5 years has not been great, divided dressing rooms, players not playing for him, outdated tactics etc., another concern as is that I can't think of many clubs he has left in recent times that have been in better shape than when he took over, either on the pitch or financially. It's all pretty moot though as there is no chance he is coming here anyway.

The Huns are *, but it’s naive to think they are not slowly getting better. I bet they thought the same when they done the 9 going for the 10.

We Have a massive summer ahead, new manager massive re-build needed. On paper we should be winning it every season but like I said above I bet on paper back then it was the other way around.

I want the board to get the right man for the job and back him to the * hilt regarding the playing squad or we will let them back in.

Could be closer with jm tactics. 1-0 leads can be easily turned around.

It's the same with the 'chequebook manager' pish. He won the UEFA Cup and CL with Porto with relatively little to spend.

The fact he wants Hooper back if he gets the job gives me the fear. Hopefully saying that has actually guaranteed he won't get the job....although it's probably be music to Peters ears.....cheap cheap cheap...
