Has the double hernia been the problem all along, then?

If he needs surgery on his hip, or whatever, as well, he should get it done at the same time.

We only need 1 point from 3 games. No need to risk further injury by playing him in these games. By all means, put him on the bench in the Cup Final, so that he gets a medal (he deserves it) but otherwise, wrap him in cotton wool until the surgery.

Just send him for the op just now ffs, we really have mismanaged the players this season especially Rogic and KT who should of been away for surgeries end of last year instead we limped them through which will and has came back to bite us in the *.

I know KT wont want to miss a game but there is no upside to playing him with injuries and not fully fit, mental.

Aye, feels like we've completely made an * of handling Tierney's injury.

To think he was on the bench against the huns at new year, but he didn't play again until February 24th. Why was he even in the squad for that match if he was clearly injured?

Kieran Tierney is set to make a shock comeback for Celtic ’s Premiership title push – but he won’t be available for Scotland service in the summer.

The Parkhead defender feared his campaign was over but is determined to play through the pain barrier and could be on board as the champions look to make it eight in a row with a point at Pittodrie.

But Neil Lennon has confirmed the 21-year-old will need to go under the knife for a double hernia op at the end of the season – ruling Tierney out of Scotland’s Euro 2020 double-header with Cyprus and Belgium in June.

The caretaker gaffer said: “Kieran’s training, so he’ll be in contention for the weekend.

“I’d doubt very much he will be available for Scotland. It’s not a case of just using him for us. He does require surgery.

“We are trying to hold off as long as possible but it may get to the point he can’t go on and he misses the Scottish Cup Final.

He saw the specialist last week and got cleared but he’s in a lot of pain. It’s a case of managing him on a daily basis.

When the season finishes and he gets the surgery the better it’ll be for him going forward.

“He’ll be out for around three to four weeks following the surgery so hopefully he would be back in time for the
    European qualifiers.

“It’s a double hernia, so that needs fixing. It’s something he can manage but it’s not ideal. But he wants to train and play and get us over the line.”

Says a lot about how * our team is that we’re desperate for a left back to play so we can try wrap up a league we should’ve won ages ago and have him for a Cup final against Hearts.

If we’ve any * sense we’d just send him for the operation just now.

He's been ridden like sea biscuit for 2 full seasons now.

Surely Lenny MUST know that we need this kid properly rested and healed.

Love his commitment and passion, but at the end of the day hes still a kid, and unless someone puts him on a real rest period his career will be plagued by these issues... if not ended.

A double * hernia? (Sports hernia, not a traditional abdonimal hernia) How is he walking nevermind training ffs.

Hernias are tricky *. Didier Drogba played through his for 6 * years, alan shearer for 3, and frank lampard was out for nearly 6 months even then admitting it was too little to late and he would never fully heal with it.

These players and many others usually develop this injury in their 30's, after years of high impact twisting and turning. KT isnt even * 22 yet.

Enough is enough. Get him on a plane to that gaff in munich where the above including michael owen, gareth barry, balotelli and veratti all went and give him a real lay off.

Criminal what we're doing to the boy through playing him through injury. Should've been for his operation weeks ago.

Why we're delaying the surgery I've no idea. It's not doing any good for us or for the player.

Idiotic playing him, we'll end up ruining his career allowing him to play and get kicked off the park by these *.

Embarrassing he's on the park, shouldnt even be near the bench for the hun game. * for him to miss the Treble but theres no way he should be on the park or the bench even then.

Should be getting this surgery this week(should have had it a month ago).

We're going to be * as it is with no Boyata, Benkovic or Lustig for the European Qualifiers and doing more damage by having an unfit Tierney again. Plus we seem to get injuries galore at the back at that time so wouldn't surprise me to see Ralston, Bitton and Hendry playing in massive games again.

Since Tierney has come into the first team he barely had an injury until this season.

Don’t understand why we can’t just give him a proper rest. He has been nowhere near his best as a result.

Hayes is more than capable of doing a job at left back.
