Yes we can only control our own games, and we've drawn three of them. Our form has got worse since Lennon took over. It's no a daft argument, it's a fact.

There's two teams involved in the gap. The huns being one of them. They went through an embarrassing run of form, hence why a bigger gap opened. It was 13 points was it not? Now it's closing again because the huns have improved and we've got worse under Lenny.

Lennon is and was the right man to see us through this spell and I’ll always be grateful that he stepped up in our hour of need, steadying the ship and leading us to a potential treble treble.

However, if we’re going to be playing like we have been then I’d prefer someone else to come in with fresh ideas.

The tactic we’ve been using the past few weeks of getting it wide and crossing the ball to guys who have probably scored a handful of headers in their career combined is bizarre. I would be fine with Lennon trying that tactic with his own personnel after a transfer window but anyone who’s watched our current team over the past few years knows that it isn’t our strength so to try it now just shows a lack of ideas in breaking teams down which is reflected in the three 0-0’s, the couple of 1-0’s and struggles against 10 men.

On the other hand Lennon is probably the guy I’d trust most to rebuild the defence from the list of candidates.

Who created the 13 point gap? So I’ll use your argument then, did you want Rodgers gone given our start to the season? Apart from that run of games after Dubai this season has been poor even before Lennon took over. But that’s all to do with the monkeys being so bad isn’t it.

I know. I actually wanted Rodgers to leave at the end of this season. Our player recruitment strategy - or lack of strategy - was clearly a ticking time bomb. His egotism was holding us back, as well.

He laid the groundwork for a great team though. We need to build on that.

Clarke hasn't had the chance to achieve many of those things because the clubs he's managed. However, he schooled Rodgers more than once. His Killie team beat Hibs 3-0 earlier in the season (albeit Hibs beat them 3-2 at ER).

Clarke has Killie in 3rd place, Lennon left Hibs in 8th. I reckon the vast majority of football fans in Scotland would rate Clarke above Lenny.

Clarke and Lenny are both capable of getting results against superior teams, they relish it..

However I’m unsure if either can sustain the performance levels, show the man management skills and build on the success of Rodgers. I want better.. might not get it but want it.

And if it is Lenny, I’ll back him 100%.

I'm sure I mentioned that weeks ago mate. One of my main concerns with Lenny wouldn't be him but how much the board think they could * him over and their intentions .If they try on their pish I would hope he would tell them to do one!!

I said before I wouldn't have been sad if Rodgers left this summer. We had regressed massively.

I honestly don't see what your problem is. Lenny's first game was on the 27th of February. The huns drew their next two league matches, which opened a bigger gap, and of course we beat them in their third match (obviously Lenny takes credit there).

Yes Lennon is unbeaten, but we've drawn 3 matches, which represents a dip in form. The biggest reason we're 9 points ahead, as opposed to the 8 when Rodgers left, is because the huns went through a bad patch right after Lenny took over. Not because we've improved.

My problem is Lennon opened up a bigger gap no matter the form of others, but let’s use him losing a bit of ground as a stick to beat him but not mentioning the huns form. That’s having your cake and eating it tbh.

This goes back to my comment the other week about some people seemingly content with lowering their standards.

Just because other teams have a dip in form doesn’t mean it’s acceptable for us to do it.

I’m not saying that though, my point is using certain factors to get their point across, but then ignoring them when it’s a mitigating factor in another argument.

Like when people say Lennon is doing well because he avoided defeat twice to Hibs away when Rodgers couldn’t?

Yet ignore the fact Lennon couldn’t beat Aberdeen and Livingston at home when Rodgers could?

The amount of times I’ve seen that pish.

Firstly, talk of freefall is garbage. We're still in a comfortable position and are into another Cup Final. We've had a lot of injuries to deal with, The Rat left and took an entire backroom team with him and the players will have been feeling a bit lost after all that.

Lennon is unbeaten, and his only draws came against an Aberdeen side that usually give us a game (aside from the semi the last few games have been decided by the odd goal), Livingston - when we missed some sitters and their keeper was on top form and a Hibs side that Rodgers never managed to beat at Easter Road. Given that context, I think Lennon has done OK.

Secondly, of course Lennon is a step back from Rodgers. That's not so much a slight on Lennon as it is a (through gritted teeth) compliment to the previous manager. I'm not sure who we could bring in that would match Rodgers level of excellence as a coach and and in the media.
Would I be thrilled with Lennon as a full-time? No. Would it make sense to me? Absolutely. The football, particularly at home wouldn't have the same sparkle as Rodgers' side often did, but I bet we'd be a lot tougher away from home and in Europe - a bit more streetwise. That's no bad thing.

What I really think needs to happen is that we need to appoint a Sporting Director or whatever term you want to give it. We need someone to oversee the scouting and recruitment, as well as the youth development side of things to give us the best possible chance to maximise our resources.

“I prefer the day-to-day but can I see myself being a national manager? Of course.

“But at the moment my first choice would be to go back into club management.

“I think I’d be open to whatever’s right (England or Scotland). The best league to manage in is the English Premier League.

“I played for Celtic. But I’ve got to say, if I got a chance to go back and work in Spain again or a chance to work in Germany or Italy I would take those opportunities as well.”

Avoid at all costs I say.
