Bent might be good, but I've never seen him really perform for Spurs so I wouldn't take the chance. Spurts would be looking for £10m+ and I wouldn't give them £7m for him. Pavlyuchenko though.. I'd pay £10m for him easily, he also has age on his side.

Hope Celtic go for the Pavlyuchenko at 6 million and Bent on loan for the season. Pavlyuchenko looks a great player and Bent was fantastic a few years ago for charlton I think he was third highest scorer in the EPL in 2005-2006 season as I had him in my fantasy football team in work and he scored me loads of points. I would make Pavlyuchenko the main target though as he looks quality.

I think you can stick a fork in that rumour after that first half, seriously as well. He looks dangerous any time the ball touches his boot and i'd be genuinely surprised if he doesn't end up at a top, top club.

He looks excellent. I've been hoping the Swedes go through, so there's no more of him in this tournie. Get him out of the window!

I think if we signed him and Zhirkov for left back it would take us to the next level. Last 8 would b possible in the CL

Don't see us getting either, both are out of our price range.

i agree that darren bent is out of our price range, but is £6 million for a world class striker really out of our price range? especially when we might be getting 5 million for our poorer version of pavyluchenko? i mean if he comes out and says that he would join us and if it is true that they only want 6 million for him (to be honest even 8 million is a good price) then if celtic don't put in a bid for him then it will prove to me and maybe then you will realise that the board lack ambition and arent prepared to take us to the next level

As impresive as Pavlyuchenko was in the first half tonight he was equally as bad in the second.

He is almost 27 now (thought he was younger) but the movement he has with his goal threat would be a first class and different option for us.

Hope this one comes off but I think we might well be down the queue for his signature.

    He's 26.

Any scout worth his salt will be able to see how good he is, he is good enough for the likes of Barca etc imo.

I don't think he is out of our range if the price quoted today £6m is to be believed. Our fear is that a massive club makes an offer.

It says on BBC website the rumours page

Celtic are preparing a bid to take Tottenham's £16m striker Darren Bent on loan next season. (Daily Record)

    &

Spartak Moscow have slapped a £6m price tag on striker Roman Pavlyuchenko to fend off reported interest from Celtic. (Daily Record)

fend off? surely we'd be willing to pay more than £6m.

6m sounds more like an open invitation to me :fear:

But somehow I think that's got to be a pre-Euro valuation.

Its lookin like were gonna get priced out of Darren Bent now anyway by Villa or Sunderland :31:.

I really hope the guy has more ambition and wants to win trophies, play CL football, and destroy the rangers.

i think the performances of Pavlyuchenko at Euro 2008 will push his price up nearer to £10mill which I can't see us paying which is a pity as he looks top drawer
