He's just not getting the best out of the talent at his disposal, it's a simple as that. He shouldn't even be considered for the job to be honest, if we're absolutely serious about progressing as a club. Appointing him simply sends the message that we're just gonna settle for doing the bare minimum to get 10IAR.

I fear it's a mentality thing with the players. Lennon will give advice but hes Neil Lennon. Theyve been used to Brendan Rodgers, slip away from the EPL, youth coach snake extraordinaire. Theyll think they know better. We need a big name imo or anyone who comes in the same will happen.

Perhaps the problem as has been discussed, is that the players, rightly or wrongly in today's game, are already not playing to their best simply because they are playing for a guy they don't know is worth impressing if he isn't here in a few weeks.

Given how early our season starts, unless we just announce the * now and get him in ASAP we need the new man to be given every second we can find so he can assess the squad and get in the players he think he needs.

I dunno, I think Lennon does deserve some credit in mostly stopping our season to just collapse in front of us after how Rodgers left however, there is only so much he can do and the team is clearly struggling with some sort of mental block. Perhaps giving them the knowledge of who will be in charge will actually wake them up and make them aware they can't simply just limp over the line and they need to perform to make sure they keep their place.

Or then it could be the players just don’t buy into what he’s trying to do. Having just worked under Brendan then Lennon taking over it must be night and day. Will always love Lennon but for me, I want to see celtic moving onwards an upwards, not backwards

That’s fair, but then confirming that the current manager is for the off would probably only magnify that problem.

One thing has been clear with this side for a while - it needs strengthened. It isn’t so much a lack of quality as it is an injection of hunger and desire. Virtually the same group of players won a treble, which was great, and then another treble, which was great again, and are now on the verge of a treble treble. I think it’s only natural for motivation and drive to wane a little over time when they’ve achieved so much. A few fresh faces would really do the side a lot of good.

We won but the performances were poor at home the second season and away in the third. And Lennon is on track to win the league and the cup. So if you're going to ignore Rodgers poor performances because we won you need to ignore Lennon's, by your own standards.

BR won the whole 7 we were in & left us on track for the treble treble, he never failed domestically in a must win or sudden death game.

In fact your argument is irrelevant to my point.

I think Lenny is right to criticise the players, recent performances (cup semi aside) just haven't been good enough.

Saying they have a bad attitude, complacent, saying the "gloves are off" now. He done the same thing at Hibs, caused a mutiny, lost the dressing room and his job.

Yes I do . He got his tactics all wrong again. If he has got a problem with the attitude deal with it internally. Never ends well going to the press like that.

Suprised he's gone down that route after what happened at Hibs.

When has criticising your players in the press ever worked? It’s much better to try and influence and motivate on the training pitch/behind the scenes..

Seems plenty of folk have forgotten how stale we were looking under BR!

A few of our players look like they NEED a rocket!

The glaring thing for me is the folk that think they are being objective and balanced but are being anything but. It's actually quite funny.
