Walked out after being asked couple times about leicesters interest. If he doesnt like the questions then just nip it in the bud and say either way whether the job interests him or not cos the questions are gonna keep coming until he says something about it.

    Could see this happening.
    Would be a serious shame.
10IAR and two more cracks at Europe may tempt him to stay.

After all his chat about how hes young and hes right where he wants to be etc, its a sickener if he decides not to comlete his contract. Two more years and then you can do whatever you want with the rest of your career. Leicester for * sake. As if the job wont be up for grabs again in two year when their manager is inevitably sacked again. No exactly hard to get a job in england, revolving doors down there.

Leicester were sittin in 8th position when they wanted the manager sacked, Brendan knows how it works in the EPL, he could leave us and join a club like Leicester only to be sacked after half a dozen games, then what ?

Plenty left for him to achieve at Celtic, also the feeling he has managing us he will never have again at any other club.

Would be a shame but there are plenty of good managers out there. I was reading an article recently about Watford FC who have had lots of managers and their sporting director was saying they scout managers a bit like players, good idea and wouldn't be a bad approach for us.

Leicester will have more money to spend and he may even get a good pay rise but how far can Leicester go, yeah I know they won the league a few years ago but that was a once on a lifetime thing.

This, he’s said the very same thing himself.

A treble treble and 2 leagues off invincibility is what he has lined up here just now - he’s not going to sail that down the river for a job in England that’ll be there for him in 2 years time regardless.

He also isn’t fluent in a few languages or spoke about jobs abroad for a buzz...

Saying he’s staying for the 10, would be sheer arrogance when we’ve not secured 8 as of yet..

He’s signed a contract that will take him to the 10, can’t expect to comment and reaffirm every time an EPL Club dismisses a Manager..

BRENDAN Rodgers last night savaged the conduct of the Motherwell team which scored a goal after they ignored long-established protocol of giving the ball back to the opposition if they've kicked it out so an injured player can be treated.

And he insisted that the age of 18-year-old James Scott was not an excuse for his actions which led to Gboly Ariyibi making it 2-1 at Celtic Park, a goal which enraged the Rodgers, his players and the supporters.

Early in the second-half of a match the champions went on to win 4-1, Celtic kicked the ball out of play in order for Ryan Christie to be treated for an injury. Liam Grimshaw, the Motherwell defender, did throw the ball into Celtic’s half, as is customary but not in the rulebook, and Scott ignored all protests and ran towards the home side’s goal, and while his shot was saved, Ariyibi scored with a rebound.

Stephen Robinson, the Motherwell manager, admitted his player made a mistake and asked that he be given leeway as it was the striker’s first ever start.

But Rodgers, who has been strongly linked with the vacant Leicester City job, wasn’t in the mood let anyone off for their role in what was one of this season’s most controversial moments.

The Celtic manager said: “We don’t see something like that hardly at all now in the game but we focused and ended up scoring two top-class goals after that. It’s a huge credit to the players for the victory.

“It’s a difficult one for the referee because it’s not the referee’s job. I think the right-back, in fairness to him, has tried to throw it back into the space for Kieran to run into, but the young striker has taken it and attacked the goal. Everyone had sort of stopped.

“I think Motherwell had an opportunity then to do something in the spirit of the game but chose not to and went on to press for an equaliser. That’s where the credit comes in for my players. It was a real injustice in the game. We’re obviously disappointed with the action. But I’m so proud of the players with the way they did react and got the win.”

Robinson made a case for Scott claiming his age was a factor. But his fellow Northern Irishman did not agree.

Rodgers said: “If he’s old enough to play and start. You know, Ewan Henderson is a kid as well. Nah, he knows exactly what he is doing, he’s played in football games before. He’ll learn from it, of course. I’m disappointed for him. He’s making his first start for Motherwell. But there’s no excuse, there’s no excuse.

“I'm disappointed for my players because we’ve kept clean sheets domestically, focussed on defending and that’s a goal that goes against our work. But more importantly it’s a goal that goes against the ethics of the game, and that’s the disappointing aspect.

“Motherwell had a chance to do something about it and chose not to.”

Rodgers was asked whether he suggested to Robinson that Motherwell could allow Celtic to score a goal unopposed which has been known to happen when this rare incident as occurred before.

He said: “That’s Stephen’s job as a leader to initiate that. It looked like their goalkeeper ran over to ask what was going to happen but they were happy enough o push on and give themselves a chance in the game.

“Referees get criticised a lot up here, but you have to shine a light into the players at Motherwell. It was a real disappointing act.”

Robinson admitted he didn’t know what was expected of his team after the goal.

He said: “I think that, unfortunately, the goal will deflect from a terrific performance. That’s the annoying thing for me. I didn’t know what to do when it happened.

“It was a young boy making his first start in the game, he’s a real prospect for us, and he’s made a mistake. Listen, I don’t know what you do after that. I haven’t got a clue. I have never been in that circumstance before.

“I think James just got caught up in it. He’s a young boy, he’s living his dream by playing football. He’s on flipping £200 a week. Jesus, he’s made a mistake. Celtic didn’t lose the league because of it, they didn’t lose the game. James made a mistake and we’ll forgive him for that.

“He was obviously dumbfounded (after the game). He didn’t know what to say. He’s taken a lot of stick.”

Rodgers, not for the first time, found himself dealing with speculation about him moving, this time to Leicester who sacked their manager Claude Puel.

He said: “I was asked before the game on it and just after the game my position hasn’t changed. I think since I’ve been here there’s always been that. I’ve spoken to you a number of times on these things.

“My focus today was for Celtic and the players. It was very important for us to get three points today and keep the momentum going. Other than that, I’ve got nothing to say.”
