Your favourite kit

As someone who didn’t grow up in that era, that’s one of the most hilarious kit designs I’ve ever seen. How did we go from the Lisbon Lions kit, to that, and back to our current kit. Doubt we’ll see anything like it ever again, which I guess makes it as iconic as the team that wore it.

 

Common for designs like that in the 90s there was kits with Stadiums etc on the front.

Think Nike are the biggest brand so i would go back to them.

 

Looks like something you'd see on top of a horse in the Grand National

 

The gay pride one yet to be released.

 

They had that top from 1955 to 1964.
It's also one of the tops on display next to the trophy room when you take the Celtic stadium tour.

 

Being of a certain age I love the home kits from 1982 through to the centenerary 1988 kit, after that it was downhill for me.
The 97-99 kit still holds a special place in my heart, I’ve still got it in long sleeve and still wear it.
Stopping the 10 year was just outstanding and that top when I see it brings back brilliant memories.
Last years home with the gold is a brilliant top, probably the best NB have done for us.
For the future, I’ve always been a fan of adidas and I’d love to see in their kits.

Home not sure. Definitely one of the anniversary tops though.

 

The Nike kits were pretty * and back quality. I love the modern Adidas kits. Quite happy with NB at the moment!

 

Growing up was always Umbro kits, but then they’re now owned by Nike I think. Not really fussed who makes our kits though, all manufacturers make good and bad ones. New Balance are ok, fairly unique as not massive amount of clubs have their kits. Only really like them though as make ours, Ireland’s and Shamrock Rovers kits.

Perhaps even tap up O’Neills as good reputable Irish firm as their kits look ok, think Wycombe Wanderers goalie kit is quite interesting, or at least was last season or season before.

That’s one of my favourite kits. It’s a thing of beauty.

 

The old retro kits looked so much better imo, and that's coming from a 90s-born Celtic fan.

Agree with you the current New balance one is a really nice offering. I liked the hooped green one from the previous season as well.

 

Nike did own Umbro for a while but they sold them in 2012 and lost quite a bit of money in terms of what the original purchase price was.

 

Could not agree more. The Nike jersey's were for me by far the worst quality jersey's we have had. Not to mention Nike as a company is a really nasty piece of work. Sadly the sportwear industry is one of the worst industries when it comes to the use of slave Labour to make their products and New Balance is guilty of it as well but Nike they are the kings of the jungle in the sportwear industry and they got that way by leading the way in the mid 90's in starting to use slave labour on a mass scale. Pretty much forcing Adidas and then the other companies to follow suit to remain competitive.
