i wouldn't class Simic as an 'unknown'. he is one of his country's most capped players and has played for the Milan giants. would welcome him to the squad, especially for £1m. hopefully he can be that old head that can rub some experience onto Caldwell and McManus.

Hes 32 now guys, hes getting on a bit although we maybe could another 5 seasons out of him tops...........dont know if hes pacy or not but going with his age he might struggle against some quick forwards. probably better than Caldwell though or Mcmanus :50:

Simic would be an ideal signing imo...

The article mentions that he can also play at fullback...Would that be on the left?:icon_mrgreen:

that guy is solid so what if hes 32 if we can get at least 3-4 seosons out of him that will be a great piece off buissnes

no. he plays on the right in central defence and can play as a right back. if he comes its Caldwell's place that will be most threatend and most managers prefer to have a left footed player on the left side of defence, ie McManus, and a right footed player on the right side, ie Caldwell/Simic.

He's calm and experienced, exactly what Mick and Gary lack. Mind, he's short for a CB, only 180cm.

Depends on the price, but he would be a great signing. A bot of expierence at the back, which we don't have yet.

he isn't just an unseen player from italy like Massimo Donati, this is a guy who is still wanted by Milan and is still a key player for one of the favourites for the Euro 2008 tournament. If he wants to come here I say let him. he would be a great addition
