I honestly wonder how much Rodgers really values 10 in a row. I know that it is this sacred, unprecedented thing to us fans but is it really a chief priority for Rodgers in his career? Who knows.

Rodgers has intimated on a number of occasions that he will stay for the ten. If he goes this summer it will be the boards fault.

Aye and that’s another thing, this Celtic board have a history of trying to play on peoples sentimental feelings towards the club and tend to treat those players/managers differently than others. Going all the way back to Jackie McNamara to James Forrest only getting his extension this season just before he was available on a bosman.

    Dangerous game.

The next few weeks will give us an indication as to our ambition and the future of our manager.

The board are honestly so arrogant. We call out Dave King and those ones for their arrogance and ridiculous "WATP!" rallying calls, but our board are SO arrogant in another way. Think they're smarter, more financially prudent, and better negotiators than anybody, and everybody just has to accept their valuations & they won't budge.

With so much money in English football now, there will be plenty more John McGinn scenarios if we keep this arrogance up. We essentially establish a valuation with our low-ball offers that English clubs can see, and if they fancy the player, as Villa did, can just come in with an immediate offer closer to the valuation and above our low-ball and get it done without infuriating the other club. Didn't we even try and match Villa's offer in the end? Which shows we were capable of doing so all along. I believe we badly need to shed this "everything has to be as CHEAP as possible" with every single negotiation and sometimes, just sometimes, blow people out of the water with serious offers.

I've tried to cheer myself about this signing. He did play well for Leipzig and played 20 odd league games the season they came 2nd. Could be WBA just did not know how to use him to his potential, which would not surprise me.

Regarding McGinn, I think there was a slight element of Petrie not wanting to sell to us.

He'd have no choice for the right price, which we didn't bother offering until Villa already outbid us. If we weren't so utterly arrogant every step of the way in those negotiations up to that point, he wouldn't have felt that way, either. We've bought plenty from Hibs before under Petrie. It was our issue.

I think he’ll suit our play (as long as it’s McGregor as sitting mid), only thing is if we bed him in well and fits our team becoming a in important player like Benkovic then we’re back to square 1 in the summer. Not long term options just short term fixes.

We were lowballing like we do but we also have loads of central midfielder, you can't dismiss that having a part to play also

Weren't we trying to make up the deal with Scott Alan aswell

To the first part, the board shouldn’t be overulling the manager on what he thinks this team needs.

    To the last part, no.
