fuxake, wake up people! we are playing the huns! we need our best team! and that does not include zurawski atm. he can find his form against little teams, but not against the scum! we have wee hot beattie and maloney on the bench.

@Torq: no, he is not the best celtic player.

i wouldnt play him at mordor, not a chance. he's not the best celtic player and he's certainly not on form. it's sink or swim and so far the lad is sinking. ok he needs time, he needs friends, he needs his maw to iron his kit etc etc. my opinions dont cater for that *, pull the socks up magic.

At last, people are hitting on the head, he is not playing to form, but don't forget he suffered an anke injury in the Euro first leg. He will come good, but if he's "rested" or "dropped" for ibrox it would give him time to reflect and get fit, just hope if he is not playing it doesn't effect his confidence. Reading reports I think he has stated that he is aware of our expectations and will respond with goals.

    its not about nationality
if it was larson coming to celtic back and had poor couple games i would defend him and im sure u would defend him - because we both know he could do better
we are so much after zuraw because we know him, thats all

and if some1 really feel insulted when u say u think he should be benched, just dont pay attention

I agree with Torq 100%, nothing to put in and nothing to put out. I stil wait for that moment when Zurawski will make a few of goals and then read from that persons, who want now him out of the eleven, only superb things. Maciek will come over you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember that text, I will remember your text......................amen!!!

I think Zurawski is one of quite a few players being fielded out of their natural position, given tasks they're not used to complete and that really hurts their game. Maciek is a model pro and always gives his 100% - as well as the others, I think - but he'll never be a left winger or attacking midfielder. If Strachan says he's not disappointed with Maciek's performance so far while almost everyone around definetely is, the problem is rather about manager and his tactics than about the player.

not really that natural then is he...?

the attitude that he needs time is getting really dull now. as someone said nakamura with nil english has been here half the time and making a huge impact already. players coming into the old firm dont have the luxury of time to settle in, harsh as it may seem.

i hope he doesnt start against rangers as i reckon he will bottle it and * out of it. ill be the first one to come on here and apologise for this statement if its not the case though. right now i cant see him scoring before Christmas...

Maciek has just played 20mins in Poland's 3-2 win over Serbia&Montenegro and did really well, playing great through-balls several times on the break. He's supposed to start in the Wednesday's final and if he does as he did today, I hope it will put an end to all speculations about him being out of form.

    I do agree!
he was the best polish player during this last 20 minutes which were very nervous to our team

    he showed few great touches
and brought some confidence in our boys with it

Players with vision need players ahead of them with movement. Unfortuneatley Zurawski's partnership with BBJ is destined for failure regardless of how hard he tries.

this may be partly a language problem

what's your definition of a natural goalscorer? to me it's somene who has a high percentage of his shots finding the net, and that's it. Whether he shoots form range, heads in crosses or is a 'fox in the box'.

Well I've been learning a lot about Celtic in the least few weeks, and it seems there was a player who looked great in his first game - his name was Juninho - and then ther was a playe who apparently played pish in his debut (aka King Larsson).

But then there of course was Brattbak. So the reality of it is - neither you or I know whether Maciek will come bad, merely decent, or superstar for Celtic - only time will tell. The diffrence between us being - you've seen him in six or so games (in a new enviroment etc. etc.) while I (and other Poles who support him here) have been watching him for years.

I'd gladly bet you 2:1 odds that it's me who's right about him (and hopefully cash in just in time for Christmas ;).

Wow Marty, I agree wholeheartedly! Finally someone is making sense. All I did was question a guys work ethic and all of Poland jumps down my throat! I never said the guy doesn't have skill...I've seen the videos. I have nothing against Poland. My massage therapist is from Poland and she's absolutely gorgeous! Gordo better dress our best team against the huns. I can't take losing to those *!

My humble request to Scottish (and Irish, and Canadian and possibly other) friends - beacuse you're the ones who have brought nationality into this discussion: please don't. I am here to support one Maciej Zurawski, who is currently a Celtic player.

And I for one didn't jump down your throat, I only asked where you got your ideas from, and said that I disagreed (and explained why), that is all.

Can we get off the Zurawski topic for a while at least.
It's really getting tiresome, let's pick it back up when there is something new to talk about. For now nothing's changed and there is not reason for beating a dead horse over, and over, and over, and over, and over.....you get the idea.

I don't think that anybody jumped down your throat but there is one thing you need to know about Poles. In our country we may cheat one another hate each other and be 100% total * but when some foreigner hits one of us then 40 million * off Poles hit him back :84: .
It's in our nature and you just experienced it a little bit.
    Don't worry - it's totally "normal" tribal solidarity :86:

at the risk of annoying some people, I'll answer clearly: no. As long as there are people interested in this discussion, I see no reason not to post. If you find it in tiresome and boring, please skip the thread, its title clearly refers to its content, so it should be easy enough.

Torq, I really like some points you make :) still I was hoping we can leave Maciek's nationality on the sidelines and concentrate on the football side of things ;).
