I dont think he would be a Brendan Rodgers type of player. I think he can be quite a difficult player to work with when your a manager.

There used to be a guy that sat behind me when McGeady was with us. Every time McGeady lost the ball at all, he would roar...."right that's it....get him aff.....get Maloney on". He done this for years Constant.....every game....and every time McGeady played. Wasnt sure if he hated McGeady, or just loved Shaun Maloney.......but it was clear to everyone who he preffered

Loved him as a player here.

My kind of winger. A lot of the stick some fans gave/give him was unfair.

07/08 season in particular he was unplayable at times. Both domestically and in Europe.

One of the most naturally gifted players to emerge from our academy.

Couldn't agree more, I won't hear a bad word about Aiden.

He gave us years of outstanding service and never spat the dummy when he undoubtedly was being held to a higher standard than others in the squad.

He signed a long-term deal so we got good money for him when he left (*cough* Maloney *cough*) and always speaks well of Celtic since. Also he stuck 2 fingers up to the anti-Irish bigots in this country and told them where to go.

He is the blueprint for our academy.

He's a class act to watch on his day. Though his inability to strike the ball properly was Infuriating at times.

All wingers are notoriously inconsistent and I think there was so much pressure on him to be a creative influence playing under Strachan's system. Our play very often consisted of:

Give it to McGeady or Naka to create something ... did it work?

    Aye: Good.

No: Hammer it long to JVoH ... did that work?

    Aye: Good

    No: Repeat Step 1

We played a rigid defensive system that stopped our opponents getting many chances but one that restrained us in an attacking sense. Our full backs rarely overlapped beyond the winger for interplay such as that between Sincy and Tierney now and our centre mids were there most to win back/retain possession before playing it to Naka/McGeady to create something.

Playing under a system like Rodgers plays now, with Rogic, McGregor, Edouard, Forrest, would suit McGeady's much more I feel.

He wasn't flawless and there was always question marks over his final product - he should have had scored more than he did - but overall he was brilliant for us in my opinion.

Nah won't be ending his career hopefully here. I liked him but was very inconsistent for me.

Frustrated me no end with his powder puff shots and floaty back post of a cross.
But no doubt the bhoy had it in abundance. Still gutted he never got to really show it all in the premiership, think he'd have done well at the time. I know He went to Everton but I never seen much of him.

General consensus amongst the Mackems I know is that he really seems to have knuckled down over the last month and that he is comfortably the best player in the league and pretty much unplayable on his day.
