Limewire/Computer Help

Rite lads, trying to download a few single tracks on Limewire right now. And it won't connect to the internet, the wee bars at the bottom left will not go green ( to say it has connected) . This has been a few days now, and i have disabled my firewall and anti virus, but sill no joy. Then i downloaded some other music programs but they had the same problem.

Any ideas on how to get Limewire to connect? I have a firewall on my laptop could that be blocking it?

Baring in mind Limewire is on my PC upstairs which has a different firewall.

I use to allways use it , didnt even think it was still around

Aye still quite popular a just use it for single tracks as its easier, plus its to make my auld man a CD with all these pish tracks on it which piratebay and that willny have

 

this might be completely obvious, but when you open limwire try clicking file then click connect.

 

Try this. Go to control panel, Find Windows firewall go on and go to chage settings then look at the tab that says exceptions and tick it or untick canny remeber. this should help

 

firewall will almost defo be blocking it, unless its not on auto conect or something. don't know if thats a possiable option though when installing

 

Sounds like its firewall check the settings for that if its no that you could try reinstalling it usally works for me.

 

aye ,something is stopping you connecting to peers

 

dont use limewire full stop, full of viruses and most of the time what you download isn't what it says it was

thats why is Stopped using it a few year ago , not worth the hassle ,it became almost impossible to track down real stuff

 

yeah they're usually advertisements. prefer sites where you can download whole albums too rather than single songs

 

use frostwire instead

 

I use limewire alot , even though it plays a big part in gettin viruses i cant afford to buy the amount of music i download . Reinstall limewire the same thing had happened to me , bt after i reinstalled it it worked fine but sometimes it dosent connect and you just have to keep on exiting it and starting it up till it does . its a nuisence but hey your gettin free music

computer genius guy i know installed lime wire for me without the sharey bit. i can down load music and films nae problems.

 

Had a thought , try and get hold of an older version , when i use to use it i didnt have the latest , when i installed it my firewall wasnt letting it function and there was no way i was opening up things for it to work

so maybe just maybe an older version will do the trick

 

I was having similar problems. When I searched for a song, it wouldn't connect to bring up any results. I just reinstalled it and it's find now. Maybe yours is more complex with firewall problems as everyone is saying
