    That very season Packy, 1969/70

    First six league games:

    2-2 draw v St Johnstone
    4-2 win v Kilmarnock
    1-2 defeat v Dunfermline
    1-2 defeat v Hibs
    1-0 win v Rangers
    2-1 win v Clyde

    Equivalent points in today’s league = 10

How many are we on now = 10

    * uncanny that. Just took that season because I’ve heard ex players still disappointed about the EC final. So Jock probably had his snipers and especially in the media. There was some amount of jealousy around us because we won big ears.

Happened to Man United under Fergie in England. Just becomes a trend for every * to kick the cream of their domestic scene.

Oh dear we must be in crisis copa 90 have released a video about our worst start to a season in how many years. * only ever cover the big leagues, the minute rangers get one iota of a title challenge media creams over it, that ball street on youtube is the same saxon *.

I think it's pretty normal for a group of players who have been so phenomenally successful to begin to slack off a little bit, especially when there aren't new arrivals to come in and create real competition for places. It's hard to maintain that intensity when you've won it all, and your place in the side isn't in a whole lot of jeopardy.

Also, as you slack off the performances drop and your confidence dips and it isn't always easy to arrest that slide once it's begun - especially when you're recruitment has been as poor as ours has been.

We need to try and get a settled side out on the pitch. Right now, flowing performances don't really matter too much in the short-term. If we play with the same intensity as we did in that second half against St Johnstone, results will come, performances will follow and soon enough we'll be full of confidence again.

However, it's crucial that we do some business in January. After initially transforming a stale side full of deadwood, we're not a stale side carrying a bit of deadwood.

This isn't begging to slack off or slacking off "a little bit", we have been dung for a long time. Our point tally last season was one of our worst since the 90's!

Just re-read my own post and realised I didn't clarify the slacking off comment.

This isn't something that has started this year. We lost a bit of the edge in our play around November last year, but even though we still win the treble, we didn't do enough to stop the rot setting in. In January, we had an opportunity to freshen things up and signed Compper, Musonda, Bain & Hendry.

The following Summer, we had another opportunity to strengthen the squad after two trebles and crush any talk of a Rangers revival. We made some sensible transfers, but it wasn't enough and our overall window was a failure. That has allowed poor performances/results to fester and now we're in a position where we've allowed talk of a title challenge to ramp up.

I believe this period will toughen up our squad as a group and we'll come out fighting, but it remains the case that we'll need new recruits in the next two windows to stay ahead of the curve. We have an opportunity to learn from the mistakes of recent transfer windows, but history would suggest that is unlikely to happen.

The achievements of back to back treble runs plus Euro games are doing our team in, I think that is part of the problem. We are in such a unique position at Celtic, I doubt any team anywhere else plays as many games as we do. Add International games and our players are non stop.

BR: “I assume this has been anticipated (semi-final scheduling) From the outside it looks a major challenge but we accept it and get on with the game

BR: “Between the organisation and the police etc they must feel this is the best solution.”

BR: “It’s good for Hearts (potential pitch damage)”

BR: “Aberdeen always a tough game. We know we have to play well to get the points.

BR: “I was really pleased with the team the other night, especially second half. Our movement and speed were better.”

BR: “Leigh Griffiths is always there, that’s why he has such a great goals record.

BR: “Aberdeen always run hard and work hard. I don’t see a great difference in this Aberdeen side.

BR: “Filip Benkovic not fit for this game. We’ll see how he is next week. Also waiting on scan results for Kris Ajer

BR: “Jack Hendry has come into a huge club and seen the demands. He never shirks from it. He’s had some challenging games but he always puts himself out there. A great attitude and I’m looking forward to seeing him develop over the next few years

BR:It was a very good win for us off the back of a tough game midweek. Aberdeen are hard opponent to play against so I'm very pleased with how we pushed it. To beat one of your rivals is great so it’s a very good win

    BR: "Players like

thrive on the goals. I always try to reiterate it's very much more than that. You seen in his celebration how happy he was. It’ll do him the world of good.

BR: "I didn’t think it was a penalty, but I thought it was a free-kick. When young Scott jumps off the floor like that then the very minimum it's a free-kick. It gave

a dead leg in which he couldn’t carry on.

    BR on
    @Oedouard22
: "A dead leg normally takes a few days, so after a couple of days he should be fine."

BR: "It was a tough game. For us, we’ve shown our resilience. Our creativity is returning back to where we want it to be and I’m delighted for the players."

BR on Dedryck Boyata: "He was outstanding. Aberdeen put in lots of great quality into the box and you’ve got to defend that. Dedryck deserved his man of the match."

Whether it was outside or not i couldn't give a *,but he is a player down due to the recklessness of that tackle,a player that cost 9 Million pounds, our 1 of 2 strikers for the season, and he doesn't let anything out regarding this?

If this season goes * up then this is one of they major incidents that made that.....He barely says anything about these decisions.

Yes i love rodgers and yes i dont want him to be like that sleekit little * across the city blaming and putting pressure on refs every 2 mins, but this is getting out of hand,a scissor kick to the middle of the body and he doesnt lay into the * about it.

I'd take Lenny everyday of his stance on these * refs doing this year in year out and giving them a going over.

Again we won, imagine we lost? Then id love to see what was said.

Getting * sick of these guys getting away with this all the time and all the press do is state " it was a bad day".

Someone have the balls to have a go at these clowns please before they severely end one of our players careers.
