The nature of people is so diverse that sometimes money is not always the deciding factor ,most of the time yes ,but bringing in a player to lift a team into winning a title or trophies after missing out many times ,and promoting them as the player who will bring home the bacon can often do more ,being the one who made the difference,maybe this is where we are stuck in limbo ,and cant move to the next level .
We are at the top here and its very near impossible to move up the european ladder, unless someone has a pile of money who wants us to have it free gratis for players only ,then we will be mid table or lower european fodder .
The only way sround this is having a good manager who will stay past the normal 5 year cut off ,and build a side from within adding a few quality additions in key areas ,playing a system that doesnt give much away and eventualy forces the( bigger side )to take risks that we exploite .
Otherwise we buy to sell and never build to progress .

 

We paid a total of 7 million for Eddy it’s was already in the loan agreement. Also add the VVD money as well.

Hahahaha got to laugh at some people on this forum. I'm a Hun because my username has Dembele In it, even though I made it months ago. Yet you've got a DP containing lustig and Sviatchenko. One player we sold last year and another in lustig who is generally * gash every time he plays for us & one of the main players we want to replace!

Exactly mate. If you question anything you get slaughtered. I was getting called a Hun on Friday because I had the nerve to question our standard of recruitment when the transfer window shut. Most people don't realise our summer window is our main window and usually our most active. We were told last January it's a big ask to bring players on mid season as teams don't want to sell mid way through the year & players cost more for that reason.

 

Sad people need to call others names.

Lustig has given 7 years of devoted service to Celtic and is very much into the club ethos & culture, qualities that have to be kept in mind when assessing his performances. After all the manager still has a need for him in the present situation and does give his best which unfortunately falls short at the moment, apart from yesterday when he was excellent.

 

How do you work that out.

Lustig did play well on Sunday. Credit where credits due. He also was outstanding in the semi final against hibs last year but his exceptional performances have been few and far between for Celtic imo. I watched every Sweden game at the WC and I thought he played out his skin for the whole tournament. Some of the crosses he put in were excellent. If we could somehow get him to provide that standard of quality consistently for us I would have no desire to see a replacement come in.
