Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed in his media conference that Moussa Dembele’s representatives are in Glasgow holding talks with the club after big interest in the striker.

Rodgers would not confirm the club but we understand this to be Lyon.

There has been no bid made for the player and Rodgers hopes to have him available for tomorrow night’s Europa League play-off.

Rodgers confirms he has spoken to Dembele but that conversation will remain private.

Timing of this is horrific! I would be happy to let him go if have a good replacement lined up but we haven't replaced players in recent years so don't trust the board to deliver this time.

We played 2016-17 with 2 strikers, so I think Celtic will do it again and say Edouard was the replacement with another possible recruitment in the weekend.

Have to admit, when we signed Edourd on a permanent contract I though Moussa would be off, and I thought the same again when we were eliminated by AEK.

If he wanted to leave just now, I wouldn’t really blame him. It isn’t just the managers ambition that has to be matched by the board, but the players too, especially the high profile ones who will have multiple options elsewhere like Dembele, Edourd, Tierney and Ntcham.
